Sansung fp-t5084 black vertical lines, other issues

Samsung fp-t5084 plasma, picture went out and found many bad caps on the power supply. Pulled and replaced the caps. Powers up but no picture. Replace y-main and both upper and lower buffer boards and tv has a picture with two vertical black lines on the left side. Read it could be a connection or a bad f-address board. Picked up a cheap f-address board and as soon as it powered up 5 22ohm resisters fried. Still have the same two black lines. Can the power supply still be an issue or maybe the x-main? Can the panel be bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Jim

      Possibly a bad panel...

I have one of these models I'm working on right now. After doing some research online, it sounds this model in particular is plagued with many problems. I found blown caps all over the y sustain and power supply. I've replaced almost every single one. I'm ready to huck the thing out the window

Have you checked the connectors to the panel?

I have released and pulled out the ribbon cables on the board where the black bars are appearing. They seemed to be secure. I just dont understand why a replacement board would have 5 resisters burn up as soon as power up. Im thinking of replacing the resisters and powering the set up with the panel connectors unplugged to see if the resistors still fail. Could a bad panel maybe cause the board to fail??

If the driver IC in the flex is shorted, it could cause that.

Not 100%... but generally when you have single pixel lines or blocks about 4cm wide, it's the panel. The F-address has very little on it which can fail, usually it causes the whole half or third of the screen to fail.

Yeah, that looks like a panel failure to me. It could be a loose driver connector, but it seems more likely to me that it's a bad panel.

Note: If the 5V on the PSU went too high due to bad caps, it could damage the panel.

                        Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                        by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                        by gpo23
                        Hello,

                        i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                        Thank you for your help

                        by viking509
I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display
                        by rfxcasey
I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...

Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 w/ large vertical lines & no picture
                        by srs
I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...
