42PFL7422D LG Inverter Modification II v1.2

I want to install the inverter board mod, but looking at the LG inverter mod II v1.2 pdf, It doesn't seem clear which way to install the zener diodes. Can anyone tell me, are they showing that there is a polarity mark on the board at the pads to install the zeners? I don't want to do it wrong and install them backwards.

    Thanks,

The 33V Zener Diode is connected between B+ (24V) and Ground on the board, the Band on the Diode will be connected to the Positive and the other end will be connected to ground. Just post the pictures so I can redline them for you.

May I ask about the origin and purpose of this modification?

LG/Philips released the first MOD which still did not fix the blown up IC and MOSFETs on the inverter boards, so they released the II fix, only time will tell if it will truly fix the problem.

          budm,

If you look at the inverter mod II document SCC_73709 page 13, you'll see arrows pointing to the pads. Are the arrows where the anode gets placed on the pads? They describe: Polarity: band mark position and non polarity: no placing direction. Should I solder the anodes to the pads where the arrows point? I just want to make sure since I don't have a schematic.

          Thanks,

What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply
            by caspian
            Dear members,

I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
            no schematics are available...

DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error re. old drivers in Windows 11 install image
            by japlytic
In a Beelink GTR mini PC, mine has an Intel AX200NGW WLAN module.

            Tried (only with keyboard/mouse connected):
            • BIOS + database update
            • Using latest Windows 11 image built with official image creation tool
            • Previous setup version for Windows 11 installer
            • Replacing SSD without a slow block (the previous SSD had a slow block with access time > 500 mS)
            • TPM reset (worked to the point where DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG error message is displayed briefly after the point of stalling)
            • Disabling power to WLAN and LAN modules in BIOS (Advanced > AMD PBS > PCI Express Configuration)

Bosch 12V and 18V chargers modification
            by Petr0x
Hi, I would like to share with you small modification to your Bosch tool 12V and 18V chargers.

You can use it for almost all Bosch chargers what I have seen, for example part numbers GAL 18V-20, GAL 18V-40, GAL 1880, GAL 18V-160, AL 1820, AL1115CV, AL1130CV.

Bosch (today also other brands using the same system like Wurth, Fein) does not care if you destroy your batteries, because they can sell you new ones. So the marketing is telling you only about speed of the charging, so you will not wait for your batteries to charge too long. Me as a customer want the tools and batteries...

What zener diode might fix the sound on Maestro Mayhem gaming chair?
            by nev1001
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.

The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.

It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.

I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.

The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
            by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...
