Akura CD320-S Lost brightness, humming and losing picture

Hi, my Akura CD320-S has started acting up since we had a power outage. The set powers on but the brightness needs to be turned to 100% to make the picture anything like watchable and even so it still seems to lack a certain amount of definition. There is also a noticeable hum coming from the power supply in the back. After a few minutes, the picture goes blank and the sound stays on.

I have had the back off and checked for bulged capacitors but can't find any.

I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas on which part may be defective??

It sounds like t-con or LCD panel fault. Can you upload a video of the problem?

Not easily i'm afraid.

When the set turns on, there is a noticeable but low hum from the PSU that definitely was not there before. Picture and sound come on although the picture is i would say 50% darker than it should be, then after maybe two or three minutes, the picture dies completely leaving just sound.

I was just wondering if someone could point me to the board that may be most likely to be at fault.

How are things in Leeds? We lived there till moving to Ireland seven years ago.
