Glue around the buffer heat sink

tom66, I see some kind of hard, flexible but removable glue around this chip's heat-sink. do you happen to know what kind of glue is used around this heat-sink?

Finally I have received the y-sus and both buffers today. I put the together but no picture or light on the screen.

Power light stays solid, does not blink anymore. But led underneath the logic board still flashing.

X-sus and y-sus has buzzing noise coming from them..

Tom66, what could be the problem ? has any clue?

I think the blinking LED is normal it indicates the control board is working, I'm very much clueless though as I haven't fixed many Samsung plasmas and they've usually been simple board swaps.

tom66, so light underneath the logic board blinks when the TV is on and functional? asking since you saw the condition when plasma tv in working condition.

Looks like x-sus and y-sus heatsink not heating up. But buffer board heats up.

Do you know if the tv will power on or not if my X-SUS is bad?

If you get no picture, expect no heat from either sustain as they aren't driving the plasma panel.

I have had heatsinks on boards stay cool with a dark picture. It's not uncommon.

I hear buzzing from x and y sustain. No heat

                      Buffer heats up.

No blink on power board. All output from power board within specification.

But no light on screen , no video at all. This is strange. Could it be my panel? I don't even see a blink/flash on the panel.

does plasma TV has inverter board and back light just like LCD tv? I see two boards at the bottom of the panel near the logic board. Are those inverter board?

The 2 boards at the bottom of the panel are your E & F buffer boards.

can those be bad? It seems like everything is working perfectly. Infact I bought y-sus and y-buffers. But when I push power button I get nothing. This is strange.

E&F boards rarely fail. They could fail, but they would usually cause bars on the screen.

The only thing i can think to suggest is look at the top left corner on the back of the panel and see if the glass bulb inside the sleeve is broken/cracked.
