okay so i have the tv and i got the new main board the one with the av jacks put in brand new from partstore.com and now instead of having a steady green i have a 2 flash standy error code does this mean i got a bad main board or is it the power supply G board bad

Did the old main board work, if not, is the fault the same? Is the main board from the EXACT same TV - Sony, as well as Samsung TVs, are very fussy with this.

Yes the mainboard is the same as the other one i pulled out i followed the serial on the tv manual and i also i have the troubleshoot manual the old main board fault was no picture no sound i also took voltage readings on the tcon and found that i wasn't getting 15 v where i was suppose to either

Argh! So they do not specify what 2 blinks mean and simply say "change both." How helpful.

but on the manual i got it from you from another post found it reading through other peoples problems through the tv anyways i also don't voltage goin to the tcon board where it says i should have 15v or so

That may simply be because it's not passing its self check and not leaving standby.

okay also i don't get a test screen or sony logo when i do power it on when i had the other motherboard that didn't give me the 2 blink just the solid green at this point i am going to have to change the G board to get rid of the 2 blink problem

is there a back light bulb that needs to be changed on this tv I don't really see anything i followed all the instructions is there something visual i can see that will tell me that the tv is bad other than capacitors

2 blinks for an S2000 model is abnormal voltage D5V/A9V power voltage.

And for your visual question, no not really lol.
Other than visually blown components (like something literally blew up) (and caps) it is testing and deductive reasoning.

So G board could be your best bet.

And I do not think this set is known for bad bulbs.

Ok, for the MB that lets the set turn on to the green light, what are all the voltages (in respect to the legend) coming out of the power supply?

LCDs need a backlight in order for you to see the image. Behind the LCD there are CCFL tubes (in your case) which are the lamps or bulbs in this sense. These don't usually go bad or at least A LOT less often than the HV transformers for them.

but if they are bad is it expensive to fix (CCFL tubes) would the tv be worth it to fix it

I replaced one in a sharp. It was $22 for one but why are you so strongly suspecting the bulbs?

As far as I know, we could just simply have a power supply issue.

well i changed the both the G board and the A board (the main board and the power board) fired up the tv and been working like a champ sorry it took long to reply on the post for the people looking at this i forgot my password to get in and i been to busy watching tv
