    Westinghouse W32701 27" LCD Display???

    Greetings BadCappers:

    1) Am I correct that the "No Input" blue screen picture, indicates that the LCD screen itself is OK?
    2) Does any one know where to obtain the remote code that will allow this unit to be controlled by a Universal Remote?
    3) Your suggestions are humbly solicited.
    4) I will post pictures of the inside when I do the teardown.

Why would you tear it down if it's working? You haven't told us how it does not work. All you mention is about remote code. You can't gain this by opening it up.

      Dear Dgtech:

--Thanks for the prompt response. "Display???" is mentioned in the title of the thread. I am trying to use the good offices of this forum to determine if the problem is a bad LCD screen or whether the problem is more likely a circuit board. Either eventuality will require opening her up. The display with no input seems right enough, but with the Computer and TV inputs, there is a quite noticeable problem on the right side. Please have another look at the pics and let me know what you think.

Cant really tell myself perhaps if you said what is actually wrong with the picture
is it half or a patch or focus or brightness
If it is exactly half may be the panel.
Try cleaning and reseating all leads.
Is it stuck in Demo mode if it has one?
Try these - not mine - off net
Three digit universal remote setu codes for White Westinghouse Tv are:

          Dear Selldoor:

--Picture is a perfect blue when there is no input but is switched on. Does the screen have a blue tint, because the CCFL tubes (I believe) are white? In the computer mode and the TV mode there are flashing pixels in the picture. This is much more obvious on the right half of the screen. Freeze spray and tapping does nothing. I will take the back off in the next couple of days, and try re-seating all cables and pressing down on the ribbon cables where they connect to the screen. I will provide pictures, so that they will be part of the record, for anyone else.

--I thank you for the remote codes. I have only tried them on a couple of different brands of universal remote, with no joy yet, I will keep trying though.

--Oddly enough my RCA DTA809 digital converter remote will control this Westinghouse TV with code 226. But 226 will not work with and of the other universal remote controls. Duh.

--In any case thanks for the good advice.

I finally see the problem on the picture with the color bars. The whole right side is fuzzy a little.

This may sound goofy but... I had a Westinghouse SK-32H240S that had no picture and the fix was simply gently cleaning off the ribbon cables at their contact points. It may have started out looking like yours. I only found that fix in another forum.

It was like they used the wrong stuff when making the TV and it made these connections more insulative than conducting.

You might also check the continuity of the ribbon cable (if there is one) from the IR sensor to the main board. Also check each end to make sure the individual contacts are not crossed. These are easily messed up putting them in an out of the connector.

                Dear Badcapers:
Problem solved, a $12.00 T-Con Board fixed the issue. Interesting note, this particular TV has the tape with the conductors attached at the bottom of the LCD screen, thereby avoiding the heat at the top of the unit.

Ok, so I know I know, it's a Westinghouse....lol It's got the backlights but no video. Likely the panel, but I'd like to take some measurements on the buffer board with help from you experts to confirm. See the attached pictures. In pic #1, there's a nice pin reference to use to take some measurements. The large IC in pic #7 gets up to 60degC when the TV is on.

So, backlights, no video, go! 🙂...

Help Request - Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105)

Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105) . Originally stuck on logo with no response from remote and no firmware file available to flash via USB. Westinghouse Support stated it would require service but that wasn't a cost effective option. I used dental floss to remove the motherboard processor heatsink to identify what make it was (Mstar). Unfortunately that knowledge didn't help with a solution. After the heatsink removal it only displayed a completely white screen. I then decided to replace the motherboard with a universal 3-in-1 board but the white screen problem continued. This...

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply
                  by Seville
                  Hello all!

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply .

I have a Westinghouse LED TV, model WD48FAB100 that is not powering on. Upon removing the back cover, I noticed a burn mark where the AC cord connects to the power supply/main board. In this model, there is only one board combining the two functions. Previous owner said the TV experienced a lightening strike, but who knows. I checked the main fuse, tested OK. Here are a collection of readings from the power supply ports. Looking for some guidance on what to test/check next....

                  by ranchhandbumper
I am working on a 1992 Toyota pickup that has an electric speedometer. It is an analog needle speedometer and is driven by electricity. There is no cable. The transmission has a reed switch that sends a 12 volt pulse to the speedo 4 times per tire rotation.

According to GPS, the speedo is showing speed progressively slower below 50mph and progressively faster above 50mph. This also affects the odometer.

I've included a photo of the findings. The "control" is information I found on the net that correlates expected MPH based on a given hertz.

                  I removed...

Thanks to y'all's help I fixed and am happily watching a 70inch Sharp Aquos. Perfect. Learned a lot, replaced LEDs. Pulled screen/panel. Proud.
