Vizio led 42inch m421vt screen freezes then goes out

Stumbled across this forum while trying to figure out what happened to my tv
Story so far:
Bought TV on ebay(never ever do that again)and luckily i also bought 2 yrs warranty on it.tested tv for about a week and it was working fine,put tv up cos i was moving so tv was not in use for about 2 months before i moved.got to new apartment,set tv up and it was working fine for 2 days then the trouble started.1st the screen would freeze and then i will have to turn it off and on before it works again.then screen starts to go blank although i can still hear the volume perfect.
contacted vizio since i could not find anyone to fix it and they decided to give me the run around so i contacted BBB who in turn contacted vizio and then vizio contacted me apologising and stuff and said since i was out of warranty,i have to pay for repairs,i said ok and vizio refered me to ITI who i ended up paying $255 to so they can come out and fix it
they came in like 3 days ago,replaced a panel on it and it came on and stayed on till they left and as soon as they left,tv froze again though i can still hear the volume and now screen goes blank every once in a while but it still does it.i have contacted ITI and vizio again but i have the very belief that they are both speaking out of their (u know what)

just turned on the tv and waiting for the issue to develop so i could take pictures or do a short video

not at all,this seem a totally different issue(now its scary)
the vizio logo stays on when the tv screen is blank and it still has sound and sometimes it just freezes but still has sound,have not seen the tv go out cos i am watching an action movie.watching the mayor of NY speech and its doing the same thing

it is staying on for now,was waiting to take a picture of the screen frozen,scared to open the back but if it will help,pls let me know

okay,wierd development,the white lines dance all over the screen and now its working again without me even turning it off,has dont that twice after i took the pictures

You say they replace a panel. Was it the LCD panel or a main board replaced? If they replaced the LCD panel, then most likely the main board is at fault.

My bet is a loose LVDS cable hooking between the main board and T-con (board attached to LCD.)

You say they replace a panel. Was it the LCD panel or a main board replaced? If they replaced the LCD panel, then most likely the main board is at fault.

I think it was the power panel,will take a pic of the inside and telll you which ne it is

My bet is a loose LVDS cable hooking between the main board and T-con (board attached to LCD.)

Is this a full LED TV? That board in pic #5 looks like the driver for it as well as the LCD T-con (perhaps a two in one function.)

yes it is a full led tv.are there non-full led tvs?what is the difference

Some TVs and the design is retro fitted and sold. Meaning they replace the CCFL and inverter with LED light bar and driver board.

Ain't that some shit.

Also pic 5, bottom LVDS cable, gold contact is exposed.
EDIT: NVM closer look it looks correctly seated.

was looking at pic 1,2 and 3 and it looks like some capacitors(hope am right) are busted on it,white stuff on the sides,

You get edge lit, rear lit and full LED.

Difference between edge lit and rear lit is basically unnoticeable.

Difference between rear lit and full is that the brightness of each LED can be varied on the full scheme, to improve contrast ratios a bit (though, not really enough in my opinion.)
