    panasonic tcp42s1 from 10 blinks to 7 blink

    Hi everyone.. I got a panasonic tcp42s1 with 10 blinks I used a tecnical flow chart and got that the ss board was bad.. i order it from internet put in on rigt now it turn on and everything and after 10 min shut down and giva me 7 blinks now.. now what? can anybody help me get to the bottom of the problem..

    I'm sorry is 8 blinks after I changed the ss board..

      Unplug SS, do you still get 8 blinks?

        If I do that the tv stays on.. I did that when I had the 10 blinks, when the old ss board was conected I had 10 blink when not the tv staid on.. now i put the new ss board and it turned on.. after 15 min shut down and got the 8 blinks.. I discconect the ss board and the tv stays on.. put it back and got the 8 blinks..

          Had same issue. 10 Blink LED code. Unplugged ss board and tv fired up. Now just trying to locate an ss board...... should be fun! Anyone ever repaired one of these boards before?

            Hey guys,

            New to badcaps so forgive me if there is another thread I should have posted in.

            I have a TCP42S1. It recently blew on me. SC board(loud pop and fizz). I eventually got a new board and fired the TV up and it looked like a glitched out NES game. I have attached the pics of what I'm talking about if it's not entirely clear.

            I figured it could also be bad SU/SD boards so I replaced those as well. Fired the TV up and it was the same. At the time, I was adjusting the panel ribbons to at least fix the horizontal black bars when the TV shut down and I now get a 10 Blink code when the SC board is connected. When I disconnect the SC board, I get the 6 code, so I'm assuming I blew my good SC board again.

            Anyway, i'm looking for any help I can get. If you have any ideas as to what's actually wrong before I dump more money into this thing, that would be great. Thanks.

              The fault before it failed with 10 code looks like the -Vad voltage is bad so your new board was probably bad (this is fairly common with scrap pull boards, esp. from eBay, as they are untested.)

                Thanks for responding.

                So I would still need a new SC board anyway? I just want to get that clear. I did some isolation tests and the SS seems fine. I just know a 10 blink code could be a bunch of things haha.
