  • TC-P42S1, Replaced SC Board got 10 Blink Code

New to Badcaps so sorry if any of this is a double posting. It's kind of a long story so bear with me...

    Panasonic 42" Plasma TC-P42S1

Heard a loud pop on my TV about a month back, followed by the 7 blink code. Did some research and isolation tests, figured out it was a bad SC board. Replaced the board with one from ebay. TV fired up but the screen looked glitched out, like an old NES game(pics attached).

The tv then wouldn't turn on after that. So I replaced the SU/SD boards as well just in case they were damaged along with the original SC board....

  • Re: panasonic tcp42s1 from 10 blinks to 7 blink

    Thanks for responding.

So I would still need a new SC board anyway? I just want to get that clear. I did some isolation tests and the SS seems fine. I just know a 10 blink code could be a bunch of things haha.

    Hey guys,

New to badcaps so forgive me if there is another thread I should have posted in.

I have a TCP42S1. It recently blew on me. SC board(loud pop and fizz). I eventually got a new board and fired the TV up and it looked like a glitched out NES game. I have attached the pics of what I'm talking about if it's not entirely clear.

I figured it could also be bad SU/SD boards so I replaced those as well. Fired the TV up and it was the same. At the time, I was adjusting the panel ribbons...
