Is it present on everything, not just the digital output? My guess would be configuration - possibly EEPROM (hardware) or firmware settings.

Low speaker level (I look at the analog audio level feeding the Linear stereo audio power amp , they are very low), low Digital audio output also. So many people have complaint abOut this low sound level. I know I can add a sigle transistor preamp (per channel) to the input to the power amp IC to solve the problem, but if it can easily be done some otherway per SHARP then I will do it their way. I do have a feeling it is firm ware update. I cannot find any firmware update at ELEKTROTANYA.

Re: SHARP LC-26SH12U service bulletin for fixing low sound problem

        Bud:

I sent the service manual information to tom66 - there were (2) addendums to the service manaul that were created just after the TSB information you posted above.

In the addendums, it states there were (2) part changes to the board:

IC101 - OEC6088A (looks like a new mainbord... shared with Sansui
        IC2407 - HY27US08281A-TPCB ( NAND memory )

The original parts (first service manual) list the same location and actually the same part information/description. Assuming this is a firmware update (especially since NAND flash indicated a change), unfortunately the Sharp service site and consumer site have no firmware updates available.

Does the issue also affect the 32" or above models? Maybe firmware is shared...

Thanks crashp3 for the info. I will add my own transistor preamp instead for the power amp section.
