Acoustic Solutions LCD42761F1080P - No picture, working sound, backlight okay

Have a TV on my bench:
    - No picture - but backlight works (i.e. screen has a slight glow and the holes in the rear of the set are lit up white)
    - Sound works fine
    - TV appears to respond to commands e.g. changing source, turning on/off and volume control.

I have taken back panel off and seen in the center a yellow motherboard (printed on it 17PW16-2) where power connects to it. The internal fuse is fine

Some of the caps look like they have a white glue on them. Is this a leak from overheating?

Should I just replace this board?

    Photos enclosed.

    Reply asap please!!

The white stuff is just glue, usually no problem. your problem is most likely the tcon board under the metal shield at the top of your picture.

I have changed the changed Tcon board as you mentioned above.

However the problem doesn't seem to be that, I am not sure what I can do here, what else could this be?

It could have been ruled out if you tested it first, we could have instructed you, to save you buying an expensive board. Do you have a digital multimeter?

Hi. I have similar problem with this Acoustic Solutions model.

1., It completely died (no power or lights at) ... I replaced the PSU.

            2. It worked ok for a day, then failed to switch on next day, although on inspection there was sound but no picture.

            3. I replaced the Inverter board with a working replacement (I hope) it immediately goes to standby after trying to switch on (brief screen light up, then off)

            4. When I put the original Inverter board back in I have sound and no picture.... Although, when I tweak with the PSU flex cable which seems to feed the inverter board I can get the lamp to come on.... (maybe one time outta ten)

In a nutshell, I'm completely lost here and was wondering if anyone has had similar problem with this or other model.....

            Any advice/info appreciated.

You may have bad solder joints at the connector. I have found a couple of sets with this problem.

Many thanks truep.... afaik... already tried many solder points, enough to make me see double...

I know there is something i'm overlooking... I just don't wanna start chasing my tail :-(
