Have you found the White Wash option yet?

Look under MENU -> OPTION -> ISM METHOD -> WHITE WASH

If it shuts off real quick when you turn that on, then somehow the PSU is incapable of supplying all the power, or something is overheating. Possibly a cold solder joint somewhere.

Alright it shut off real quick.. so it's something with the PSU for sure?

It certainly sounds like it. With your meter, can you check the high voltage Vs (should be around 190V when running.) If it starts falling THEN the TV clicks off (you should hear a relay click or two) it sounds like a cold joint or controller shut down to me.

Sure, where exactly should I be sticking the meter? Thanks.

On the thick multi-way power connector which goes to either sustain board - the boards on the left and right of the TV. There should be a pin marked Vs. Post a pic if unsure.

It's a very difficult problem - not one I'm well experienced with. I hope you can fix it.

Uh oh.. that doesn't sound too promising haha. But, would replacing the whole PSU board do the trick though? Thanks

Possibly. I couldn't guarantee it. I do have a spare main board for the 42PC1D; that's probably the only other cause, and likely to be compatible.

Alright sounds good.. I'll test out what you told me to on Thursday and hope I can get this thing working by the weekend. Will keep you posted. Thanks!

Hey guys, I swapped out the power board with another one and that fixed the problem. I prefer not to use it since it was pretty expensive, but i will try and run the tests you mentioned. What's the fix for it though? Would it be worth or possible to fix the old board or should i not even bother.

Possibly a cold solder joint or intermittent component - could be tricky. Glad you found the fix...
