Re: LF501EM5F No Power, Chirping/Beeping Transformer
Okay! I got it the C3214 cap out. Now I am getting some resistance off this cap off the board.. does that matter?
C3208 which is still on the board and in parallel with the C3214 I removed was previously coming up with no resistance. Now it has some resistance on a higher setting of my multimeter. What other troubleshooting can I do to confirm and where can I source a replacement cap from?
Thanks!...

Re: LF501EM5F No Power, Chirping/Beeping Transformer
....one year later, Quarantine has finally given me time to look at this again.
Not sure how I figured that the short without the 3214 removed. I'm looking at it now and I checked the resistance across each cap nearby and compared it to the C3214. All of them are extremely low compared to the C3214.
However, I did get 536 ohms when I checked resistance between the C3214 and ground as described in your pictured. All the other caps nearby are right around 600 ohms when grounded...Last edited by akk944; 04-10-2020, 07:36 AM.

Re: LF501EM5F No Power, Chirping/Beeping Transformer
Budm, no I'm not sure which pin is not connected to circuit ground. I was trying to figure that out by trying either end. I don't THINK my C3214 is in parallel with anything else, but it's hard to tell. I could be wrong. Please see picture of my board and C3214 attached. Finally, my meter has 20M, 2000K, 200K, 20K, 2000, 200. When I put it on the 20 or 200, it doesnt look like I have any sort of connect between AMP +13v and the resistor. Just shows '1'... doesn't even move. This changes when I go to the higher...

Re: LF501EM5F No Power, Chirping/Beeping Transformer
budm,
I don't need to check from the power board right, I can just put one end on the AMP +13v of the main board and the other on the non grounded side of the resistor. What result am I looking for? It appears I have a short on one side from AMP +13V to the C3214 I am looking at, but it's tricky for me because I am a noob and have a digital multimeter. The only thing I tested was resistance from one end of the C3214 to the other and it seems to be significantly higher than any other resistor on the board (.30 on...

If it's 10uF that I need, then how does this cap look?

Re: LF501EM5F No Power, Chirping/Beeping Transformer
Ah so what's the cap citywidetvtech is referring to? I just want to be sure I order the right part before I spend 6 bucks on a 10 cent part. Of course, I could order both, but I don't want to mess anything up by using the wrong cap. Please let me know!
Thanks...

Re: LF501EM5F No Power, Chirping/Beeping Transformer
Hello, I'm having the same issue and have found the C3214 cap on my main board. What is the best way of confirming this cap is the problem before swapping it out with a multimeter. Do I need to check for the short as previously mentioned (got a little lost with the hot air gun).
Thanks! Sorry to bring up this old thread.
EDIT: I have a bad cap at c3214! confirmed by checking and comparing resistance with other caps on the board. With this being said, does the following look like a reasonable...Last edited by akk944; 05-05-2019, 08:08 PM. Reason: diagnosed issue, need help with replacement part

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
Hello,
I sort of found something, then finally gave up! HAHOMETP met up and did some testing. We had it working when we swapped in one of the inverter boards into my TV. So, I went ahead and ordered it, but then the replacement didn't fix the problem. At that point, I was sick of it and didn't feel like dealing with another part (inverter was probably shot... or something else went wrong within that week). At any rate here are some pointers for you to try to see if it is the inverter (one of six!):

Re: Samsung LED UN55D6000
bump
did you ever figure this out? Our TV just started doing the same exact thing. Not really happy since the TV isn't even two years old, we didn't use it much, etc. Let me know!
Thanks

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
Update! So I re-read over all the posts and saw that drpj23 said that it might be a bad transformer or CCFL? First of all there are so many! HAHOMETP how did you access them without taking off the trim? I can't get to the screws on the top and bottom covers on both sides. However, I took off the one in the middle and messed around with my multimeter a little. However, I can't figure out how to get the resistance on these transformers! All the caps look okay on them. Help would be appreciated!

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
LBN, Glad to see the pictures helped someone! I was just getting back to the project after months and noticed you brought this back to life so thank you for that! Now, I need to go back to diagnosing this thing and hopefully getting it to work! So any fresh ideas on what could be wrong with the TV? Seems like some of you were thinking that the inverter board is what I should be looking at now or what? Let me know. Thanks!

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
Okay well I didn't get around to checking voltages STILL but I did try using my little harbor freight LED flashlight to see if I could get a picture... with no luck. Is it possible that I need something more powerful or am I hitting it with the wrong angle? Please let me know. Thanks!

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
Alright, well I will probably try starting off with a flashlight. The TV is heavy (5 year old off brand 65 inch LCDs are NOT light!) so moving it around would't work too well.

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
Yeah that's what it seems like. I didn't get time to take the voltages yet, but will do that tomorrow along with take picture of the inverter boards (there are more than one I think!). What do you mean by a picture with an external light source? Thanks!

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
Here are the pictures! I will take voltages tonight, but in what state should I take the voltages? Also I was reading and I think that the caps are original based on what others have said online as well as the person I got it from....

Re: Olevia 265FHD problems!
I do have a multimeter, but don't know where I should be taking voltages from. I'll take pictures of the connectors and put them up in a few. Thanks!
