    philips 42pf9946 plasma display problem

    hello ladies and gentlemen.

this is my second plasma repair so i want to give my best.
i have no rich experience in plasmas so any help is praised.

this is a Philips 42PF9946. the problem is shown in the pictures. the pdp seems to be Samsung S42SD-YD05, (from the back label).

i havent opened the cover yet, but i'd like to know any early opinions.

    thanks in advance.

    Very likely a buffer fault.

thank you tom. i did some more searches and turned out this tv is famous for the notorious buffers. but the real problem is with the owner who refuses to pay any real money for repairing it. it sounds stupid but he claims to be some kind of technician and is convinced on "resoldering the tuner pins". he states it is an antenna connector problem. c'mon! cant troubleshoot the problem with this pressure
i think i am forced to give up.
anyway i'll make him an offer as he was totally broke, and revive this thread later.
      thank you for your attention!

Move on. There will be lots more in the future.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

My guess is (other than buffers) maybe CTRL board...

          Cheers!
