Vizio VO420e No Backlight

Opened up TV and found burnt ceramic capacitor on power supply board, no inverter board in this model. Here's what's on side of cap (color blue):

33J
6KV
LK

Can anyone tell me what part # I need to get? Or do we need more info?

33pf 5% 6000V. They are ballast caps for the CCFL.

Thanks! Is this a common issue of these caps going bad or could it be an indication of another problem somewhere else?

These ballast caps do fail since they are exposed to up to 2000V, so any defect/cracks will cause problem.

Good news, replaced burnt C743 and adjacent C764 just in case and TV is back to life. Thanks!

This was very useful. Gave me the Mouser link, seeing there are no nearby stores for that cap, and it also let me know I was not the only person who had a cap fail at C743.

I find it is strange that that one cap at that loc failed. I know it can be pure coincidence that the same one failed on me that failed for kevinm, but I have also found that the VO420e is known for "black screen of death". I wonder if it is a design issue (other than Vizio just being cheap).

Thank you for the good info, it got me on my feet again for just a few cents +shipping.

Great! might as well replace all 5 at the same time.

CAUTION: the caps at C733 and C717 are NOT 33J's... I just replaced all 5 without looking and killed the screen. I've got to research... what goes where... one is a 15J and one is a 12J.

There are 6 caps total, there are 2 pairs which are connected in parallel.
