    kdf50we655 cycling/ not turning on

    Hey guys,

    Today there was a free 50" Sony projection on my way home. Seeming how I already ripped into one of these and fixed it and is now in my living room I decided to try this one. As the title states its a Sony KDF 50WE655.

    When I plug it in I can hear it all cycle on and the fans kick on. I pulled the front off and took out the bulb. Looks like the bulb overheated a lot! I can't tell if the bulb itself is blown, I'm sorry for the low quality pic of it but there is are a few white rings around the base. No cloudy lens or anything. The pictures show the damage.

    There is an excessive amount of dust built up on the inside. It is possible that the exhaust fan over the bulb is so clogged that it doesn't work and that is causing the bulb to not turn on?

    When I turn all of the lights off in the room and I try to turn it on there doesn't appear to be any light emitting. Is there any way to test the bulb to see if it is not working? I can't really tell if the ballast is firing in order to turn the bulb on either. But when I leave the TV and just try to turn it on in cycles a few times then the "lamp" led on the front blinks.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks members!

          I have had these 70 watt high pressure sodium yard lights for many years now probably at least 15 years or more and there is a protection diode that after several years starts to go bad and when it does this it has momentarily shutting down the light and then a few minutes later it starts working again

          This about the forth time I have fixed this one and you can tell if it the diode or not if it lights up and it only shuts down when the air conditioner turns on then it is the diode

          If it cycling on and off constantly then it is the bulb itself that is the issue

          I've been living in the same apartment for about 5 years now, and moved into it with my old Samsung plasma TV (PS51F5500).
          Ever since we've moved in, we would sometimes see strange power-cycling behavior. For example:

          I took pictures of all the boards and the pin out of the connector on the power supply that goes to the main board... I measured all the pins in relation to chassis ground, here are the result.

          Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on.           I've owned this tv for 3 years when all of a sudden it started power cycling - with no apparent cause. It's not in warranty.

          I know this appears to be a fairly common issue, but would appreciate some guidance as I have no idea what i'm doing.

          I have taken the back off and when either of the two ribbons connected to the main board are disconnected, no image other than the back light appears on the screen, but the sounds runs. This happens with both ribbons and when they are both in place, the power cycling starts again.

          Is there any recommendations on...
