    Lg 50pc3d-ud

    Hi Guys .. I have a tv with red vertical lines .. 1st picture is of that , second picture is how the menu shows up when you press it .. the power supply had 10 bad caps , i recapped the entire board .. all voltages out test ok ..

    any ideas?.

      Hard to tell but probably a Y-sustain or control board issue. I repaired the 42PC1D and 42PX5D so I can offer some advice, but I think the 50" and -3D has some significant differences.

          I had a simuliar fault on my 50pc1d set, don't know if it's any help but I had a short on 1 mosfet on one of the bufferboards.

              This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

              Problem
              TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

              5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source.               Philips 58PUS7805 Menu working but no/weird picture from video sources

              Hello everyone,

              I got a 58pus7805 that shows some weird behavior.
              The menu and remote work fine and the picture is looking crisp and flawless while navigating the menu.
              However, when a video source is displayed the screen either goes solid green (HDMI), solid black (SAT TV) or shows some fragments on mostly green background (AVI Playback from USB).

              I tried to reinstall the firmware through the menu which was rejected saying it already had the latest version.
              I managed to install the latest official firmware by holding the control button while plugging...

              I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

              A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

              I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...
