    Samsung LN-46A530 question

There is this TV with a gray image on craigslist and I'm trying to figure out what could be the problem with it before I would pick it up.
I never seen this issue before.
I asked him to put it on the Menu screen:

That looks a lot like a T-con issue; failure in the Voff voltage, so it is letting too much of the image through.

Beware it could still be a panel issue, although it is relatively unlikely.

The faint bars on the screen are likely camera artefacts from the backlight PWM, although check this if you go to pick it up.

If you can get it REALLY good price, but it turns out to be bad panel, you may get more money back by selling parts.

        He is asking $50.
How it would be a bad screen though? I don't understand that.
I'm trying to learn also, even if I won't pick this one up.

I'm wondering why the backlight is so dim and not uniform? It can't be that the slave inverter board is failing and can't light up the whole screen properly?
You can actually see the ccfls, but they don't seem like they are enough for that screen size(46").
