Re: Black Vertical Bars Through 1/2 of Screen

I have a 50px4dr-UC with the exact same problem (black vertical bar from top... half way down screen... looked like this). If I looked very closely, I can see little colored sparkles in the black bar. I first tried cleaning and reseating the ribbon cables on the board. After I did that, the bar went away but eventually came back a few days later. I then figured it was the board, so I ordered a used Top_Center board. Put it in and the black bar was gone for a couple days, but it did return.

Next, I tried to resolderd the 100 ohm resistors that are on the flex cable. I just added enough heat to melt the solder on each end of the resistor. Did not add any solder to it. Put it all back together and now I had the old original black bar AND a new one a few inches over from it. Next, I actually applied a small amount of solder to each end of each resistor on the flex.

Put it all back together and now the both lines are totally gone. Been working solidly for a few days now... so hopefully this fixed the issue.

If anyone is looking for the Top_Center XR Buffer Board (LG 6870QXC008A)... I got one I would sell cheap. Send me a PM if interested.

        Hi,

Thank you very much Karthun! You made me very happy!
Had the same problem with a black stripe in the upper middle of the screen.
There were some 100Ohm resistants where soldered point was broken. I solded with 350°C and a fine soldering tip, worked perfect! Here are some pictures....

        best regards
        Martin

Dell G3 15 3500 - Battery bug (black screen and flashing keyboard backlight)

          Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...

          Hello everyone !

My name is Chris, I am a 30 years old embedded software developer working in the automotive industry. I am really passionate about learning new skills and repairing/crafting stuff. I came around this forum last week with the goal of repairing my faulty gaming laptop, indeed, I was video editing on it when suddenly a black screen popped and never disappeared I bought some stuff to try to repair it and learn as many things as possible about computer repairs but nothing worked so far. When the black screen appeared, my legion 5 pro was connected to my external monitor...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
          by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Acer Aspire E5-574-52RH - black screen
          by DaniK
          Hi everyone,
I have this strange behaviour with Acer Aspire E5-574-52RH, i5 6200U, intel graphics, DA0ZRWMB6G0 Rev G, model ZRW.
Laptop came in for a SSD upgrade, took everything apart to install the SSD.
Everything started after modifying BIOS settings to boot UEFI instead of Legacy.
Laptop works fine, i installed windows 10 and drivers/updates, everything works ok(when it works)
The black screen problem is random, maybe 5 out 10 times, laptop remains with the black screen, no image

          Symptoms are:
          - random black screen after displaying Acer logo...
