Although it may not seem like it matters (PFC is 400V), it does because the ringing at the drains puts the voltage across those caps as peak 600V. In fact using 1kV caps would be a good idea. They are cheap from farnell or ebay.
    sound advise thank you

    still cant find any!

another question will these be ok as replacement caps for the 32"

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MakeTrack=true

cant find them any where else was going to do the 105K ones as well while i was at it but finding it hard to match the voltages up as these are 450v and the others are 630v

cant see why they would be 630v to be fair as the boards only supply max 24vdc and supply is 230vac?

More likely the 32" board is programmed for a different T-con and so won't display anything on the 37"...

Yes, Vestel engineers cast a curse on these every time a batch leaves the factory.

i will swop out the main boards tonight then and see if that sorts the Hitachi out, then order a main board from some where if it powers up, i need to order a remote for it anyway but thought id wait til i get it working first.

will order the 15nf caps tonight then swop all caps anyway on the Goodmans to be on the safe side then retest and fingers crossed that ones sorted

17PW20 is cross compatible with 17PW15-8.

If you have too much trouble would just advise buying one on eBay for around 20 quid.

The #1 fault (5 mins off, sometimes 1 second, sometimes 1 hour...) is caused by the two 15n 630V caps near the main switching fets on PSU, but there are hundreds of other possible faults that make these things a right nightmare to diagnose.

17PW20 PSU Working but no power lights on LCD

hi all, ive recently got 2 lcd's in, 1 being a Goodman 32" with a 17PW20 Psu and a 37" Hitachi with the same board

    goodmans turns its self off after about 5 mins - ordered main caps to try changing them 2 x 4700uf 6.3v, 4 x 1000uf 16v, 1 x 2200uf 6.3v and 2 x 1000uf 35v (no bulging caps found but G-Luxon)

the Hitachi how ever does nothing....DEAD, i have swopped PSU's over and tested in the goodman and that turns on and its working fine - any ideas guys? is this a main board issue or inverter?

i could trying swopping the main boards over to eliminate cause i think there the same but before i did that i wanted to see if anyones had this issue before to save myself some time

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
    by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
    by Asraf Atb
    Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100
    by JSin21
    Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...

    Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
    by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
    CN6401
    Pin 01 NC
    Pin 02 NC
    Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
    Pin 04 "N/C"
    Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
    Pin 06 "GND": N/C
    Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...
