philips plasma tv repaired y-sus no blotchy picture.

hi guys have a philips plasma tv. tv had no picture after some checks the tv had a blown top buffer and y-sus.

i repaired the y-sus and replaced both upper and lower buffers.

the tv now powers up with a scrambled colored blotchy picture?

    heres a video showing problem.

does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem.

    A few possibilities:
    - incorrectly seated connector LVDS from main board to control board
    - bad -Vy or Vsc (check with test points)
    - low Va voltage (low Vs would cause dimmer picture usually; Va is used to address the screen so if it goes bad picture might go bad like that too, but I'm not certain.)

all voltages seem fine i even adjusted each slightly and picture adjusted slightly but colored blotched patterns still present.

Is the cable from Y-sus to X boards seated properly? It could be an X buffer or a Y buffer problem. Were the Y buffers new parts?

yes checked the cable from y to x each go into control board reseated and its fine. both the upper and lower y buffers are new parts.

I'm not sure; at this point I would be suspecting the control board or that you didn't actually get new parts (and the seller was lying.)

thanks tom. guess i will just sell it on for parts as i dont want to spend any more on this tv as i have 2 to repair.

regarding other fault on other plasma tv it all works but has a thick black bar across top of screen do you think this is a panel fault or just a simple buffer fault.

i know panel driver faults can cause vertical lines or thick bars but pretty sure not lines across.

                  i have attached a picture.

                    Y buffer almost certainly.

Re: philips plasma tv repaired y-sus no blotchy picture.

vertical lines are almost always bad.

lines/ bars across the screen are almost always at the buffer board.

The buffer board ribbon cables are very hard to seat properly and could be your problem if it had been apart before. (Check that first with tv off))

The ribbon could have been damaged as well.

A failed buffer ic will sometimes put the tv into protect mode and sometimes just not work with tv staying on pending panel model and type of chip failure.

The repair may be as simple as replacing the upper buffer board.

                        Greetings all!

Originally this set had the usual messed up video symptoms such as: horizontal lines, weak, grainy video, bottom and top of picture differ in intensity of problem. It also seemed to slow to turn on or show the messed up picture.

Seemed like must be YScan/buffer board failure. Ordered buffer boards from my distributor which were supposed to be original/new and also from another distributor, I ordered the YSUS because I wanted to replace it for preventative maintenance. (also, the YSUS had a bulged cap, so there was even more reason to suspect it could...

                        Hello, guys!

The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

                        by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

                        by PlasMatt
I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...
