lg 32lc46 power supply repair help required please

hi as per my old thread lg 32lg46 totaly dead i have now managed to pick up a free 37 in version of this set the only problem is its missing its power supply but i have my old one out of the 32in thats shares the same psu unit EAY31845201/13 REV 1.2 now this board has only the 2 x 5 volts present ie st5v and st5v all other voltages are missing even using a 1k resistor as a load.a few members on here was helping me fault find on this board before the bridge rectifier decided to go pop this has now been replaced and the 2x5volts is back.i will copy and paste the advice and test point readings i have done from my old thread along with the pdfs and pictures i posted so you know how far we have got with the fault finding any help appreciated.

    1. Since the PFC Voltage boost did not make the Voltage on the Main DC filter go up, Iwould like to contentrate onthe PFC circuts as hown in the PDF, Iwould like to get the P/N of the U800? and a good close up picture in the red area, there should be a switched transistor that is turn on to supply the VCC to the PFC IC when the PS_ON is present. Please see PDF. If I uderstand you correctly the DC voltage on the two large balck eletrolytics caps (450vdc rating) in the primary side stay at 340vdc with the TV on or off?

    2. OK, I found the spec for the PFC IC P/N 5501A, we need to check the VCC pin
    3. OK, looks like we are getting some where here, I will download your latest pictures and try to figure out where pin 8 of this U800 is connected to, it will not be easy since the board is not front of me to Ohm out the connection, you may have to do some probing for me.
budm was helping me test voltages etc right accros the capacitor as in your pdf test ponts its 13.8 volts across capacitor and between the other two test points its 2.4v

The 37LC46 PSU is not the same as the 32LC46, as far as I am aware. It's the same as the 42LC46 PSU but missing one of the 150uF bulk capacitors and a few components are sized down. You may be able to use the 32LC46 if you turn down the screen brightness; are the inverters on the 32" version or on a separate PSU?

yes they are. i have got a main board ordered for the 32in coming this week so dont realy want to use that psu. not sure about this 37in lg back was of and psu missing when i picked it up not sure if the screens ok (very hard to tell as has a pressure mark looks like its been laid faced down on something) so dont want to waste money on it at the min will look for a very cheap psu for it (dont want to blow my one good working psu testing the 37in lg).
just emailed on a Panasonic 42" HD Ready Plasma TV that wont switch on lol. so may be my next project.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Power supply Manson NTP-5561 (5661) LCD controller dead - PIC18F87K90 HEX dump required
        by Andreas_de
        Hello!

i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.

Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Hi, Can we use SMPS Bench Power Supply for Laptop troubleshooting?
        by shamsudeen
Hi all, I just need to know that, can i use SMPS type power supply to test and short circuit detection on a laptop motherboard?
I saw 95% of repair guys are using only Linear bench power supply. linear bench power supply is pricy, thats why i planned to get one SMPS supply.

i know that in linear power supply the noise will be very low comparing to SMPS supply....
