    Medion 42" (MD30163DK)

    Hey All.

This looks like a nice forum and I hope you can help me.

I have a Medion 42" LCD TV with a blue screen.

I can turn it on, use remote, see menu on the screen
and hear the sound from movies (played through DVD player).

There is no picture, just blue screen, except the menu is there.
It is like there is no signal, but the TV only complains when I remove
the dvdplayer (no signal) , It does not say it, when it is plugged in.

I have changed the PSU (17PW16-2)
and the Mainboard (17mb26-2), because it would not start at all first.

Could it be my Tcon board or something else??

    Hope someone can help me.
    Thanks in advance

First thought is have you got all the connectors back in place?
Second - can you try another input insted of dvd- computer?

        Re: Medion 42" (MD30163DK)

Did you own the tv from new - have you seen it working properly.?
Do you still get sound with PC and Antenna - have you anything to go in the scart socket or hdmi.?
Did you change the source using buttons or remote control?
Check in the menu is there a child control switched on?
Is there an option for resetting the tv in the menu.?
Can you run a channel search from the menu?
Do you have a soldering Iron and Multimeter and can you use them?
Unless someone recognises this fault you will probably have to post
Pictures of the front and backs of the boards in the machine.
As a start could you post one with just the back off the set with the leads in
place so we can see the general set up.
Were the replacement boards the same numbers and revisions as the old ones - and have you still got the old ones?

When you say DVD player is that internal or external - if you disconnect the internal
and connect to pc do you still get no signal message.

          Re: Medion 42" (MD30163DK)

          Got it to work.
          Thank you.
It was the child safety thing.

My next problem is that I can only select Digital TV as source,
PC, HDMI or DVD I can´t select them in the menu :S

Have the manual , but that does not help my much,
when the other things are not there.

            Probably a Vestel.

Press 4-7-2-5 then menu. You must press them 0.8792387 seconds apart and in that order. (It's extremely sensitive, at least on the Vestel TVs I have.) You should get into a secret service menu that lets you configure some core settings. Look for the option for inputs and set it up, enable the ones you need. While you're at it, add the Dolby sound decoder, 7-day EPG (if it only has a now-next one), extra picture settings, and some other features you'd normally pay extra for .

              Tom66, you are a f**cking genius

              It works perfect.
              Only one thing is wrong
and that is when playing a dvd movie (dvd player),
only colour is blue (but must be a setting)
because PC works perfect with the TV.

I've never seen a 42" with a built in DVD. Crazy!

Try enabling the "Medion Mode", if it's available. Custom settings for Medion TVs. I've seen it on one TV - no idea what it does though!

There may also be a mode for the DVD player i.e. 0 - 7 or a list of DVD player units that they may use, if so try selecting each one and seeing if it works. (You may need to restart the TV every time while doing this.)

If you still can't figure it out, there's a reset to factory settings option somewhere there. That will reset it to the defaults for your model so it should work like new. That's assuming the main board is from the same model... given Vestel manufacture about a million different variants, it's probably not so easy.

What input are you using? I've got a 32" Goodmans in the shed which works well on all inputs. I had to reconfigure it after the memory got corrupted so I know how everything is set up. I'll see about what it has set up for those inputs tomorrow.

I tried Scart and S-video (the yellow one). Still Blue picture. Thanks Tom

Have not searched for Channels yet, but the normal "no channel" noise picture
is also blue, so it must be a picture setting

                          by Yehuda170
original screen was BOE NV156FHM-T07 with On-Cell Touch screen I²C

replaced with what was in my stock, which is IVO R156NWF7 R2 which is also with On-Cell Touch screen I²C

now touch screen works perfectly in UEFI BIOS menu & boot menu. but not working in OS, tried windows & linux too

with original broken screen i can see in device manager touch screen in human interfaces

but with the new screen it's not showing in device manager

is it lenovo blocking it? is it driver missing?

                          I²C is a headache

                          Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...
