Before i try and order this part i could do with as when i powered this set up backlight lit up for 2 seconds then off..i noticed several lines from top to bottom on screen..dead pixels??so i stripped it down further to notice the LVDS wires where out of the plastic casing..so my question is can a bad LVDS cable produce horizontal aswell as vertical??

Before ordering the new part i was wondering if i could solder some thick wire to the ends of the tubes and onto the inverter board..good or bad idea??i dont want to waste money on new part if the panel is bad..any thoughts??

You could do that, but you will need some high voltage wire, preferably rated for 2 KV or more.

You can also use different (and more standard) connectors as well, but then you will also have to replace the connectors on the CCFL tubes.

As for the vertical lines on the screen, I'm not sure about that. Could be just dirty contacts on the LVDS connector or could also be a bad panel (i.e. ripped ribbon cable between t-con and panel).

It might be better to start with the backlight first, though. Retiredcaps has written an article on how to troubleshoot 2-seconds-to-black problems. You can find it here:

those pics look like a peavey amp - lol
I have replaced most of the conectors with straight solder connections in any peavey I come across, nowhere near the same voltages going through them, but always works.
if it is your TV(or if it was mine) I would do it in a heart beat, only problem is the wires may be tight and it will be permanent and could cause some service problems if you ever needed to get that board out of the way in the future. remember - nice shiny joints - lol
