First of all, this my first post. Thanks in advance for any help! This seems to be a great forum.
Current condition of the TV is it powers up but there is no picture (screen does not seem to turn on at all - no faint glow). But green power light stays on.
Also, there is sound in that you can hear the speakers turn on. I am unable to select any source (cant see source options since no screen) so I am not sure if I could get sound form a source. I have tried using remote to select a source (not sure if actually selected) and no sound from that source.
The heat sinks on the ysus and zsus get warm (not hot but warmer than when it is off).
Voltage readings out of the power supply are all correct.
How we got here.
TV started acting up and would have a somewhat scrambled picture. Turning the TV off and an on a few times would get it to be OK. And we would watch the TV. This got progessively worse.
Ultimately, one time the picture just did not come on (and I cannot be sure but I do not think the speakers came on at this time either).
So I did a little reading and then discovered more than half the caps on the power supply were bulging. Bought a replacement kit and replaced those. As I said, all voltages out of there are now correct.
And that is where I am today.
Any ideas, anything to test? Any help will be greatly appreciated and fixing this will make my girlfriend very happy since it is her TV.
Also, I can get any pictures that would assist.
Thanks again in advance!
Steve
