Coby TFDVD2295 22" LCD TV w/ DVD Player

Picked this one up tonight for $10, anticipating another
cracked screen....and.....it was a cracked solder
connection on the 3-prong AC plug!

SWWEEEET!!! Didn't even have to buy an over-priced
fuse! The picture is good for such small screen.
This makes up for the last TV!!!

Let this be a lesson to newbies: a totally, completely dead
TV without even the front LED lighting up, can be a super
easy fix! In fact, the more dead the TV, the better chance
it's only a power supply issue.

Problem: the guy didn't have the remote. And the silly
manufacturer didn't put a few more buttons on the built-in
DVD player, so I can only watch a movie straight through.

So I'm going to sell it on Craigslist for minus the $28 that they
will have to spend on Ebay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/COBY-TV-DVD-...298#vi-content

Or should I just order this remote myself, and sell it as a complete
set? It will certainly be an easier sell.

What are you experiences with replacement remotes? This Ebay
seller claims, "This remote will work just like the original remote with no programming required. It is guaranteed to work right out of the box and batteries are included."

Anyways, I deserve any easy fix at last!!!!!

My experiences with replacement remotes are generally good. The only problem I've had is they sometimes have extra features, for example on a non-digital TV buttons to switch to digital modes. This just does nothing or brings up "Not Available" on some TVs.

    Glad you fixed it

      yeah, I'm rather stoked!

The cool thing about this one, is that you can
play video data files, like .avi, .flv, .mpg, etc.,
from a DVD data disc, or from the built-in
SD card slot, or from the USB. I'm wondering
if I'll be able to watch movies from my 200 Gig USB
      external harddrive.....i'll try it tomorrow.

Mark my words....I'm gonna have a working 42" or larger
LCD or plasma real soon.....for damn cheap!!!

      This website is the coolest!

That's cool. Actually, one thing I like about some of the cheaper TVs is the fact that they offer a DVR recording feature. Plug in an external disk drive and they'll record live TV, with no external boxes.

I've got a plasma that takes SD and CF cards and shows pictures, will have to have a look at that soon. Might do videos too.

The one problem you may have with an external HDD is that the TV may not be able to power it without an external brick.

DeLonghi AC Remote only accepts 3V
          by cstout
Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

          I can't find any schematics...

          "Kinetic" 433Mhz transmitter/receiver discussion
          by Dannyx
          Good day folks.

TL;DR: has anyone tried pairing one of THESE "kinetic" battery-less switches with THESE generic remote modules ?

Details: I recently got hit by this craze of wanting to add remote controls to the lights around my house, so I went with those generic 433Mhz remote relay modules found everywhere, which are really basic, easy to use and work well, since I used them before in other projects. What I like most about them is they accept all kinds of 433Mhz remotes that float around Aliexpress, since they're all the same under the hood, save for the...

Please help, where can I get a remote for my subwoofer?
          by rustinjust
I’ve got a subwoofer that I’ve had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I’ve lost. It’s a generic make of subwoofer, I can’t see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.

Question recently I’ve connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I’d like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

          Is there...

Pioneer VSX-522-K remote control not working???
          by tmhobadcap
I have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.

At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked...
