Sony Bravia KDL-46SL100 (no picture, but I feel so close)

Title states my problem and I'll break down everything I've done. Checked all caps for bulging, all good. Suspected the T-con. Took it to a repair shop and he diagnosed it as the main board being the culprit. Replaced main board with no results. Read an old post on here from the Wizard about testing a small white fuse on the T-con. Fuse was bad. Ordered T-con and am waiting but decided to test the power supply in the mean time. All seems good except two wires that say 15v are not registering. I can't find a schematic for this board (I am searching with my phone, no Internet at the moment. Power supply is 1-876-291-12. I took a pic and will try to upload it from my phone of the area I get no reading. In the pic you'll see a STBY 3.3v then above that UNREG 15v printed in the same direction. All those are perfect. It then says UNREG 15v sideways to the plug. Those two spots are dead 0.01v actually. Do I need a power supply as well? Any suggestions? Hopefully this is thorough enough. Thanks in advance for your help.

Dang can't upload from my phone. Here's a google image of the board. Plug I'm taking about is on the right, the longer one. The spots that seem bad are in the center of the plug.

That pic is way too small and useless to anyone here.

Sorry about the pic. I have a better one of the area in question on my iPhone, but that doesn't work here. But, yes, backlight is on.

I can't think of what the 15v line is for. Most lcd's use 24v, 12v, 5v, and 3.3v voltages. If you have backlights and the SMD fuse on the tcon is for sure bad then I wouldn't worry about it. It's most likely just the tcon board.

Fingers crossed then. I'm a little peeved that I dropped $150 on a main board for now reason. Not sure if I can return that since I'm not licensed. A well. If it's the tcon, I'm only out $200 total and the tv was free. Thank you for such a fast response. I'll reply once the board is in with the results. Maybe I can get near some wifi soon and post that pic.

This is why I think most TV technicians are useless around LCD/Plasma TVs. My first bet would have been T-con, and it's much cheaper than a main board.

If you had come here first, we may have been able to save you $198

The fuse on the tcon is replacable if you have reasonable soldering skills.

Sometmes there is more wrong, sometimes it's just the fuse.

If you are reasonably handy with a soldering iron you could try the fuse first. Can you hold off ordering the board?

I would never take another TV to that repair shop, if he missed the blown fuse on tcon - or perhaps he did see it ? hmm.. nasty

Yeah, I'm wondering if he was just trying to soak me for some cash. I told him when I dropped the tv off that I thought it was the tcon. As far as soldering goes, I gave that a shot (first time in 20 years) and shaky hands with lack of skill resulted in a mess on the tcon. I junked it. But, the new board is in the mail. I'm hoping that power supply isn't bad. If so, I will have rebuilt the whole thing. Well, in reality I'm hoping the panel isn't bad...
