    Samsung 50" PN50A550 - 2 vertical black bars

Just picked up this TV, there is 2 vertical black bars on the right side. One of them is all the way on the right, the other one is about 4 inches left of that one. Both of them are about 1" wide. A couple times, I've gotten some random pixels to sparkle in black bars, but nothing solid.

Picture is great everywhere else on the TV, haven't tested voltages yet since I can't find my voltmeter, but everything seems to be fine. I've tapped around on the E, F, Y, Z, and logic board, but no change.

Any advice? Besides it being a bad panel.

If random pixels are sparkling occasionally, maybe the X drive connectors are loose. Sadly with these newer Samsung plasmas it is often the panel that is bad.

Where exactly are the X drive connectors? I've looked around and it looks like they are behind a strip of plastic that runs along the bottom of the TV and attached to the E and F boards permanently... Although I might be wrong.

Shoot. You might be right; the connectors might be permanently soldered to the boards in which case you won't be able to repair them. Sorry.

          Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
          by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Sharp LC-70LE650U vertical black and red bars
          by ninja_zx11
          Hi all,

70" LED TV is Sharp LC-70LE650U.

Initial problem was horizontal lines and slow motion lurrs on the bottom left of the screen. So I removed both the left and right ribbon cables from the T-con board and tried to clean it with alcohol and when I put it back, this issue appeared. I tried carefully reinserting the ribbon bon cables but same thing. I checked the traces of the ribbon cables with magnifying glass and everything looks good. I cleaned the small jumper ribbon cable on the left side of the screen which cured the horizontal line and slow motion blurs...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
          by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
          by kotel studios
          Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....
