Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
I really don't wanna tear it apart down to the tabs, but flexing, tapping, hitting, pushing, nothing you can do changes the lines at all. I wanna see if I can find a T-Con locally but I'm running out of time. I need the TV out of here by the 30th. They change ramdomly. Sometimes it takes hours, but it's getting worse.

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
The horizontal lines or the vertical bar? I'll have to take it back apart, but unplugging the one for the left half of the screen would remove the vertical bar, unplugging the right one wouldn't affect the bar, but it would cause the whole left half of the screen to have slow refresh and only display blue. The horizontal lines weren't there when I tried this. I'll take it back apart when I get a few minutes.

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
Okay so here's a picture of the horizontal lines, you can see the multicolored bar, and here's a short video of what the bar does when it's acting up and showing that sometimes turning it off makes it work perfectly. I apologize for the bad quality and no audio, it's all I have at the moment but it gets the point across.

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
Update, bar is back. It comes and goes. Now there's horizontal lines on the bottom left third of the screen? They extend about 3/4's of the way over the bottom over and slowly fade as they get closer to the edge of the right side. They come and go too, sound like the T-Con board at all? I'll post a picture soon.

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
Strange thing happened, put it all back together, I was giving up since I didn't want to tear into the frame. Powered it up, the multicolored bar was still there, so I put on Avatar for fun, just to see if it would go away. 20 minutes into the movie the bar disappeared, and is now showing no signs of returning... I'll report back if anything else happens.

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
My problem was this exactly, but only a 3" bar, not half the screen.

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
By digital noise I mean that bar area is extremely distorted, like a bad signal from an HD antenna, glitchy and everything, but if you turn it off and back on, it will be 100% fine. If I push around on the T-Con board, it should *maybe* act up right?

Re: Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
It's only there sometimes. Lately it's been rare. It comes and goes, and when it comes, you turn it off and right back on and it will be gone, sometimes for hours, sometimes only for seconds. But turning it off for a second almost always fixes it.

Samsung 52" LCD Intermittent Vertical Bar
Model number LN52A550, the set has an intermittent vertical bar in the screen, about 3" wide, just to the left of the middle. Sometimes it's white, sometimes it's black, sometimes it's a bunch of digital distortion, sometimes it's multicolored lines, but, whenever it happens, I turn the set off and right back on, the bar will be gone. Sometimes it will stay gone for a few seconds, sometimes for hours. I actually did a factory reset in the service menu today, and haven't seen a single trace of the bar since. I noticed the bar seems to want to show up more when there's a bright scene, or static...

Re: Sony 46" LCD KDL-46V21L1 - Scrolling bright bar, slight mirrored picture
All inputs, and the menu and OSD is affected as well, but, last night, I left it on for about an hour, it cleared up for a minute, then went back to being screwed again, then I turned it off for a few, turned it back on, and it's been working flawlessly since. Smacking it doesn't change anything, it's still working, it's been turned on and off many times since then. Not sure what's going on, but I'll report back if it gets screwy again.

Alright, so after being on for about an hour, boom, the pictured cleared up perfectly, about a minute later it went back to being messed up, then it went to perfect again, and now it's messed up... Smacking it doesn't seem to do anything.

Sony 46" LCD KDL-46V21L1 - Scrolling bright bar, slight mirrored picture
I have kind of an odd problem, there is a bright horizontal bar about 4" tall scrolling from top to bottom, the rest of the image is kind of dark, and slightly mirrored when the bar rolls over it. It's almost like an old CRT with no vertical hold, I will post a video of the problem in about an hour, unless someone helps me out before then!Last edited by tripslipfall; 12-30-2011, 10:10 PM.

Samsung 50" PN50A550 - 2 vertical black bars
Just picked up this TV, there is 2 vertical black bars on the right side. One of them is all the way on the right, the other one is about 4 inches left of that one. Both of them are about 1" wide. A couple times, I've gotten some random pixels to sparkle in black bars, but nothing solid.
Picture is great everywhere else on the TV, haven't tested voltages yet since I can't find my voltmeter, but everything seems to be fine. I've tapped around on the E, F, Y, Z, and logic board, but no change.
Any advice? Besides it being a bad panel.
