This pic shows the cables not connected, but everything was put back for the final test. I will double check the connections and post close-up of the connection at the main board. Can I put a meter on the speaker connections and see if I'm getting anything?? Or is there somewhere else that I could test?
    Thanks
Some meters may pick up a small reading if you measured the speaker terminals, but you really need an oscilloscope to do it properly.

What is really needed is a better picture of that area, and the part number of the square IC so we can figure out what is where. Way back when I was getting started in electronics I built a signal tracer - essentially an audio amp and a speaker. With a cap on the input to provide DC isolation, it was easy to trace audio signals. Not as good as an oscilloscope, but a lot more portable.

By the picture, this is a class D audio amp. Very little to troubleshoot; all you need to do is verify audio signal and power in, and trace the signal out.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Ok, thanks to all. Sound works. It helps to have the manual. Without it, I figured that when I have HDMI in, I would choose the HDMI for the Sound-out. Not the case, I had to choose HD15 from the menu and then low and behold perrfect sound. Thanks again to everyone.

        CHEERS!!

Re: Sony 40 in LCD, no video no sound.

              Hi:
I picked up 2 Sony monitors at work that had both stopped working, they were going to the landfill. The model numbers for both is FWD-40LXF2F. Company had them playing 7 days a week 24 hrs a day. Both are in my garage which is about 40 degrees right now. The problems are:
TV1:It will play perfectly for about 10 minutes then There will be a high pitched sound from speaker and I will lose the picture. If I unplug the Monitor and plug it back in it comes back on for another 2 minutes and goes off again. The sound is good and I did a back light test. Doing the flashlight test there is no video present. I swapped the power supply with TV2 and got the same result.
              TV2:
The problems are no video,no back light and I am unsure if the sound works. Again I had swapped the power supply with TV1 with same result as before.
So I feel there are no issues with the power supply in both cases and am leaning to the main board for both tvs. Would like to figure out what is wrong. Visual inspection showed no burned areas or bulging caps. Any help will be great.
