I have replaced the ccfls from another of the same size (42 or 32 etc).

I soldered mine in because the ends were smaller.

I replaced all of them from another panel. (even light)

You can do the same. Some are plug in and some are soldered.

Any ccfls with dark spots are bad.

Yea I not sure how, I also was told that it will let two go out before it shut them down, not sure if thats true? The diameter is about 3.40 on the bulb and on the end (solder point) 3.4 I did't know what one it would be. So the bulb is 955mm (long) - 3.40mm (diameter)

Well, I'm surprised. I've never heard of three bulbs simultaneously failing. Have you tried measuring their diameter?

I did what you said and there's only 3 out I thought i seen four but it is flicking. But the same three are out after I moved them. They also have black spots on them. I'm having trouble still trying to find replacements. I think i'm going to put the AOC or Sony ones in after i fond out the diameter of the bulbs.

See early I was messing around with the bulbs and put them back in there was a little light and the t.v stayed on longer than it has been at least a min or longer. But now there no light what so ever in the three bulbs.

I'm not convinced that four bulbs have failed. These inverters shut off when one bulb dies so no further failures should happen.

There's a simple test for this, though.

With power off, carefully swap a "faulty" CCFL for a working one. See if the CCFL in that position lights up. Do not change them around when the set is on as you will get a nasty shock (~3,500V) although as this is AC it dissipates almost instantly so no harm once unplugged.

That is most likely an au-optronics panel. It consists of a master and slave inverter.

Mosfets on the slave short out and can be caused by one or two bad ccfls.

Very common on this type of panel.

Do not replace the inverters until you inspect the ccfls.

So I went ahead and order the parts from RetechTV.com, it cost $94 for both inverter boards. If this isn't it I think i'm going to try getting a new power supply. And if anybody could help me find a Manual and a disassembly guide that would be appreciated.

So I think i'm going to go ahead and buy a new master inverter, and see what happens the buzzing is worse on there than the slave

0 ohms is good for a fuse.

Yes, that's a possibility, although less likely. Set your meter to the 200V DC range and probe the pins corresponding to the red and black wires on the connector, while turning the set on. I think you should measure about 24V +/- 1V either way.

Could also be a bad bulb, but it looks like the bulbs will be a real bugger to replace.

Did you check the fuse on the boards? It's the white object next to the power connector. First; check the zero level of your meter: Set your meter to the ohms range, then touch both leads together. Note the reading and write it here. Then place one lead on one side and the other lead on the other side of the fuse. Report back the reading.

DELL LATITUDE 5420, ST 20TFKN3, LA-K491P REV:2.0 (A01) powers on and die about 15 secs later, no video

hello friends, I have a DELL LATITUDE 5420---MODEL P137G, ST 20TFKN3 LA-K491P REV:2.0 (A01) and its quite a challenge. It powers on with the battery disconnected, lasts on for about 15 secs, and then shuts off. It does the same with battery only (no adapter). With battery and adapter it sometimes starts after hitting the button several times. It displays nothing in every case. Since only the Boardview is available, I guided myself with schematics similar to this laptop (I'll add them down). Some measurements:

1- After receiving power SIO_SLP_S0# goes high and never changes.

Polaroid p49fn0038k backlights flashing split second
    by Chrissygizmo
Hi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..

When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Polaroid P43D300 (vestel 17MB97) issues (bluetooth & various sw bugs)
    by snimmits
    Good afternoon,

    I have a Polaroid P43D300.
It shipped with WiFi and Bluetooth.

Two weeks ago, I ran through the first time installation.
This did a full reset and went through the first time setup.

Once complete, I went to settings > sound.
selected Audio Link, changed setting from disabled to enabled, pressed green button on remote and the tv does a search (discovery) for Bluetooth devices.

search completes and doesn't find any devices.

I have tried everything I can think of.

    Can someone provide...

I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:
