red lines on samsung plasma tv

I have a samsung plasma that has red horizontal lines in the middle bottom of the screen. What causes this and is this screen burn in?

It is not screen burn-in but if you are using it regularly then it will burn-in if it hasn't already done so. The lines are most likely caused by worn out buffer ICs. If you keep using the TV its only a matter of time before they fail completely and cause more damage to the TV. Depending on the model number of the TV it could be a relatively cheap fix ($100-$200) or quite expensive ($250+). If you replace the board yourself then you might only be spending $70-$125. If you use the TV until it fails then the repair will run $400+ at a shop or $200-$350 if you do it yourself. Pictures of the back of the TV with the cover off will help us identify the parts used and give you an idea of what you are dealing with. A picture of the screen with the fault visible will also help us diagnose the problem.

usually it occurs when the screen is black and shows up on the pics kind of faintly mostly on dark colors.
