Hey there guys! I got a Vizio VL370M LCD, the problem is that when playing video on any of the sources, the lower half of the screen freezes intermittently. It also has one solid line running vertically on the panel slightly to the left of the middle of the panel, and one more exactly on the middle going horizontally. At the intersection of these 2 lines, there are 3 pixels (arranged on the vertical line, with the middle pixel on the horizontal line) which glow red or a solid light color. Here is a video of the symptoms: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnG44C0zcQU
Now I assume this might be a Tcon problem...But Im worried it might be the panel...
I also took pictures of what happens when I disconnect one of the T-Cons ribbon cables: But first let me explain a bit, since the pictures dont show the whole tv. (it was a bit cramped :-P) When I disconnect any of the ribbon cables exactly half of the panel (corresponding to the ribbons side) would stop working (displaying white)
The first 2 pictures are with the right T-con's ribbon cable disconnected-The left side is perfectly fine, except for the vertical and horizontal lines (this time they're alot fainter on the blank white side with the horizontal line being completely white but still visible).
The second set is with the left disconnected-The whole panel (including the blank white side) shows symptoms that are shown in the youtube video, with only the right have having video
The third is with the whole Tcon disconnected from the mainboard. The backlight works, and I dont see any dead pixels or anything.
The rest are pictures of the back of the TV's arrangement.
One thing I noticed, and it was hard to notice with all the noise I have from the computer and all down here...was that when you listen closley with your ear close to the screen, you can hear the panel (I think its the panel) faintly buzzing when the picture isn't frozen, but when it freezes for a bit, it stops buzzing. Im worried :-C
Now I was assuming this was a T-Con problem...But im not yet at the level to know for sure :-) I would really value you're input on this :-)
Thanks alot guys!
Oh, and the game is sonic adventure for the dreamcast if anyones wondering :-P
