i have a Philips Plasma tv model 42PF9630A/37 with top half of the screen black...i suspect it will be the upper y-sustain buffer....but could the main also be bad??? if the bottom half is still running ok, would you suspect the y-sus main is still good or no??? is there anyway to test this??? i dont want to have to replace the main if it doesnt need it...thank you very much

The question is: If you spend $70 and the the other two boards fail, taking the new one with them, is it going to be worth it?

The cost of new buffers would make it not worth it...TV is a 2006 model.
Is there any way to test the plasma panel to make sure it works?

Do you know if they also repair the buffers or would they have to be replaced? Do you do any component repair?
