Have a weird one. Just picked this TV up off CL a month or so ago.
If I watch Netflix on HDMI setting, no sound until I cycle the TV on/off. Then when I try to change back to TV "input", it won't change until I cycle TV on/off?
Netflix is through an el-cheapo Magnavox DVD player.
It was fine this morning but only on for about 10 minutes. Turned on this evening and was OK for about 25 minutes.
The Hulk is back...don't have my tools here now to do anything tonight. Will bring some home tomorrow. Think I have some dielectric grease in my toolbox. I didn't even disconnect the board the last time to check it very closely.
Will do better next time...and snap a pic or 30...
As I'm proof-reading this it fixed itself...WFT? It's haunted!!!!!
The board in question doesn't have any type of latching system...it plugs directly on the rear of the picture tube with a round 8-10 pin connector. Even when fully seated it's pretty wobbly. Piss poor design IMO. Great picture though when working correctly! Cheap too! I should have snapped a picture while I had it apart. My bad.Re: Sanyo HT30744 Green Screen
...

...
Picked this TV up from Goodwill a few months ago. A couple hours ago the screens tint skewed green. I've tried adjusting colors thru the menu with the remote but it doesn't really change much.
The flesh tone is decidedly green. I'll attch a couple pic's but they may not show the full extent. Watching NCIS right now and they look like ET......
Just listed a bunch of parts from my Magnavox 42MF230A/37 on eBay. Was going to fix it but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. If anyone local can use the screen and some hardware it's available. Forgot to list the base...back to ebay I go!...
That site would be great if they had anything in stock. I have a 42" Vizio with a broken screen I only paid $20.00 for. Came with remote, power cord & base. I would pay $200.00 for a good panel. Only problem would be remembering how to reassemble it...took it apart several months ago intending to part it out. Been too lazy to list it on ebay...
To translate...lay the TV face down on a a suitable surface on a folded up blanket then remove the rear cover. About 25 screws. I would remove the base if attached. Viewing from the rear as the TV would be sitting/mounted the "sustains" are mounted about five inches from the sides of the frame. You should have acess to the fuse on the RH sustain but will need to remove the vertical support to access the left sustain. The sustains are the boards with the large heat sinks.
Found the answer on ebay...still no response from Coppell TV. I'll use someones elses service!

Which is why I was interested in their service. I am 54...been turning bolts since I was 11. Sometimes I'm not the nicest guy when talking about mechanical stuff. Have just about zero patience with cheapskates that think they know more than I do...
I originally tried to contact them several months ago. No response. Sent another question this evening. Not planning on sending any boards out until after the New Year, so no huge hurry.
I'm going to fix the 42" Magnavox Plasma that has been lying on the kitchen...
Anyone here used their LJ41-02759A sustain repair service? I've sent him a couple questions through ebay and received absolutely no response...guess I'll try one of the other sellers...
Just want to know if they have the new style buffers in stock and the cost? That surely isn't too much to ask?
Re: Worth the Trouble to sell 42" Plasma screen on Ebay??
Both X buffers are shorted, Sustain has a shorted chip and probably a couple mosfets. When Coppel TV dropped his sustain repair price from $75 to $55 recently, I considered fixing it. But that's another $200.00 in a TV that may need more boards or even have a bad panel.
It's junk.
Need to sell the PS & base and give the rest to a local TV repair shop....
Re: Worth the Trouble to sell 42" Plasma screen on Ebay??
$60.00 for the TV with no base/cord/remote, $52.00 for power supply
and stupidly bought a base for another $50.00 before the PS got here...why didn't I buy a wall mount? That would eventually be useful?
So total loss to this point=$162.00 plus probably 100 + hours of research/testing...
I decided I wasn't going to mess with repairing the sustain myself when Copell TV will do it for $55.00.
Need to list some of the parts on ebay. Plus I have a Vizio VU42LFHDTV10A Prod 8-07...
Re: Worth the Trouble to sell 42" Plasma screen on Ebay??
I have one too...I know it needs new buffers and the X sustain repaired...afraid to spend the bucks on those parts/repairs as it may also have other issues. Already have too much in it...
I have disabled the sleep function. It still goes to sleep and will not wake-up. You have to push the "kill button" and then wait for it to re-boot. It brings up the start windblows normally page.
Came with Vista Basic. Recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. Same shit. If you are going to be away from it for more than about 30 minutes you are better off shutting it down. Not a big deal if you know you will be away from it...
