    Samsung plasma PS-42C455 no picture

This unit came in yesterday, it has only been used 3 weeks since it was bought from a store which went bankrupt and it was sold with no warranty.
According to the owner it just, during operation, made a snap sound and the entire screen went black. Audio is still there and everything else seems to be up and running. These symptoms sure looks like the good old IPM blows.

I made some fast measurements today, all the voltages from the powersupply regulates at correct levels during startup, but after five seconds VA and VS is turned off. There are no fuses on either Y-SUS nor Z-SUS at all, and some brief measurements on power devices on either board shows nothing abnormal.

Man, I must say they have begun to get things down in size in those new plasmas. The powersupply is a tiny little thing, very compact, the Y and Z-SUS boards are also very small aswell, very neat. The logic boards looks like a small T-Con board in a LCD. This unit has 600Hz field scan rate aswell.
I will try to upload some photos of it during the weekend, just wanted to put this out in prior.

See attached pictures of the set. The set is so new so the service manual isn't available at Elektrotanya yet.
The pictures shows the powersupply, Y-SUS with Y-buffers, main board and Z-SUS, finally the small logic board.
Impressive weight reduction and size of the boards, really.
These guys knows what they're doing, (most of the time )
