    Dead Acoustic Solutions IPOS 150

Hello I have an Acoustic Solutions CTVL32W3HD, with the IPOS 150 REV: 1.8 board, symptoms dead - no lights at the front and no flashing LED at the rear (on the power board). I've replaced EC17, EC18 (both bulged), Q16 and Q17 (both shorted) and F2 3.15a (open circuit). I tested D10 (out of board) tested ok. On con3 the only power output was on the 5VSB which equalled 5.06vdc. Any help - Cheers

That has a rather unusual design. I'm trying to work my way through it.

The legend for CON3 is readable; CON4 and CON2 aren't. That information might help me.

The usual convention is 5VSB is live whenever the power supply is receiving AC; the remainder of the supply is turned on when the TV is turned on. STB appears to be the control for that. What is it's voltage? Also, what is the voltage across the large cap?

CON4 is the 6 pin connector. It's legend is to it's left, You have listed the pins on CON3.

It appears you are in an area where the mains voltage is 240 volts, correct?

STB is an input from the main board. What happens when the power button is pressed?

Yes in England, CON4 GND, EPWM, BK_ON, FDATA2, FDATA1,APWM - No real voltage is registered but millivolts are flicking as soon as the switch is connected, whereas the reading was steady before.

It appears the main board is not driving STB high. Or it is possible the power supply is not providing the proper voltages, and the main board is turning it on, then shutting it down.

I'd suggest taking a +3V source (such as a pair of AA (R6 or LR6) batteries in series) and connecting the - lead to any GND pin, and the + lead to STB. That should turn on the main supply and the PFC circuit. If that does happen, you can direct your attention to the main board. If it doesn't further digging into the power supply is in order.

No joy. Looks like it time to start testing the power board components....
