    hitachi 42hdx99 powers off and on automatically

    Hi.

    I wonder if someone could tell me what's wrong with this tv. It keeps turning itself, then on again after 8 blinks, then repeats the cycle even after leaving it unplugged for a couple of days. I have attached the photos. Thanks.

      I dont work on plasma's but this sounds like a power supply problem to me. Post closer views of the power supply board (front and back) and I'm sure someone will help you out.

          Odds are it's trying to tell you it has a problem. The service manual might have the information on what 8 blinks mean.

              the pictures are pretty low-res, but from the looks of it, your Y-buffers appear to be integrated into the panel ribbons?? if thats the case, and one of those goes bad, the whole panel is toast.

                  Hello,

                  I have a Panasonic TC-P50U50 plasma TV which powers on briefly, then powers off and flashes the power light with 8 blinks. This TV is infamous for this, of which the suggestion that the SS board has failed due to loose grounding screws and requires a replacement of the following components on the SS board:

                  2x DG302 (Q16051)
                  2x RF2001 (D16041)
                  2x 5.6 ohm SMD resistor
                  1x BD8694 IC

                  I have already gone ahead and replaced these components, as well as cleaning off the ground connections on the SS board as well as the associated...

                  Panasonic P58V11B 8 and 12 blinks error "fix"

                  Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

                  Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

                  I have a samsung QN82Q70RA powers on then powers off. Using some info on the interwebs. I disconnected main board from power supply and backlight shows blue and stays on indicating power supply is good. So next I unplugged one on the lvds cables that connects to screen( I think other side goes to tcon board?) i can get a blue screen and if I press the picture button on the remote i get rain sounds and birds chirping. A lot of videos suggest using kaptan tape to cover the clock signals, but I've been unsucessful there.
                  So I thought I'd just quit messing around and come to the best site...

                  Hello,

                  I have a Samsung DM32D display.
                  When I try to power it on, the red LED blinks 5 times and nothing happens—the unit won’t start.

                  Here’s what I have tried so far:
                  1. Disconnected the cable between the mainboard and the power supply → the backlight turns on.
                  2. Disconnected the main T-CON ribbon cable → same issue as before, the LED still blinks 5 times.
                  3. Disconnected one of the two T-CON ribbons to the panel (tested each one separately) → same issue, the LED blinks 5 times.

                  From these tests, I suspect the problem might be on the mainboard. Could anyone...
