Every multimeter, even the cheapest, gives a reading. How you interpret it is key.

If you have a manual ranging multimeter, set it to 200 (two hundred) ohms. Touch the black and red probe together. It should read 0.3 or 0.4 ohms. If it is higher than 1.0 ohm, there is something wrong with your multimeter.

If your multimeter reads "1" or "OL", it means the measurement is outside your chosen range. Don't confuse "1" on the left hand side of this display with 1.0 on the right hand side. The first means out of range and the second means 1.0 unit of your measurement.

A "1" of the left hand side means the component is > 200 ohms. That is, the bridge rectifier is not shorted.

If we are reading this correctly, you have a shorted rectifier just as was mentioned before in this thread. I would not power this unit up at all until this part is replaced. Put in a fast blowing fuse of the correct amperage as well.

I'm going to remove the BR tommorow and search for a new one. The slow blow fuse I got from the Shack had a thin wire with a ball of solder in the middle. Now you got me wondering if I did more damage to the power board using the slow blo.
