    L/G AU-OPTRONICS panel

I picked up this 42lg30-ua no backlight. I found a bad mosfet on the slave inverter. Took care of that and had a bad buzz and very short backlight. I then pulled the panel apart and found alot of the tubes near the end of their life (darkend in spots).

This is the second au-optronics panel I have not had much luck with.

Should I be hunting down new tubes for this panel or just find another l/g with same panel/broken screen?

I think you already answered your own question. Since this the second AU panel you've had problems with, waiting around for another AU panel may be inviting trouble. Try ccflwarehouse.com for some new tubes. Several members have had a good experience with them.

A 42" LCD TV still have value in my opinion, I wouldn't buy any used CCFL tubes unless I get them very cheap or close to nothing. Here is a seller on eBay offering the CCFL tubes you need. I see the seller will accept an best offer. Make an offer !!!

i save the tubes from all the cracked LCD TVs i get before i scrap them.

I got maybe 2 mailing tubes FULL of them.

I had enough to re-tube a sharp Aquos LC37D44U awhile back. it played 24/7 for 2 years streight. killed the tubes.

I do have a Sharp Aquos 42 with a broken panel somewhere in my back building. I guess I could check it out.

That sounds like my mom`s tv. She burnes out tvs and coffee pots.

            Thanks for the reminder!

I found a low hour panel (broken) and removed all the ccfl tubes (18) and soldered them into the optronics panel. the panel lights up and stays lit. Also no more buzzing sound from inverters.
