Re: Vizio VS420LF1A
It would help to have clear focused pictures of the insides of your tv. Please post an overall picture of the boards and then a picture of each board. Use manage attachments like you did in post #1.--- begin sig file ---
If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Re: Vizio VS420LF1A
For your sake, I hope it's the video processing board and not the panel itself. Your power supply should be fine.
The first thing I'd do is find out if this occurs on all video inputs. This doesnt prove or disprove one board or the other however if one imput works better than the other, you might want to live with using the working input. The strong-minded rise to the challenge of their goals, the weak-minded BECOME HATERS

Re: Vizio VS420LF1A
Are you using different names? Hmm....
OK... as before mentioned in post number 2, post clear pictures of the set opened up, then the boards in this set. Post the numbers that are marked on these boards. The strong-minded rise to the challenge of their goals, the weak-minded BECOME HATERS

Re: Vizio VS420LF1A
I will take pictures Saturday when I will have the day off of the insides. My friend/rep that sold me the TV made the intial post on my behalf while I was signing up for the forum. I am new to repairing TVs and he introduced me to this forum that he said was extremely helpful when he was repairing several. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Vizio VS420LF1A
I am suspecting the board in the very last picture. I believe it's the t-conn board. I cannot tell you for sure but if you can post the numbers on this board, it can be looked into further. The strong-minded rise to the challenge of their goals, the weak-minded BECOME HATERS

Re: Vizio VS420LF1A
With this current problem, I suggest swapping this board. I can't promise you that doing so will fix the problem however there is no way that I know of to test this board.
If you search in ebay for "6870C-4200C" you will find a lot of these boards for sale varying in prices. The cheapest one I seen was $20 with cheap shipping. ShopJimmy has them for about $40. There are no guarantees with ebay so be carefull. The strong-minded rise to the challenge of their goals, the weak-minded BECOME HATERS

PlainBillFor a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.
