    samsung ue46c8000 problem with standby

    hi to all
i downloaded the service manual of power supply

and because it has burnt the ic iCE3BR1765J and the fuse 2 ampere and probably the transformer ic801s i wanted to test the rest circuit if it has not problem so i take a power supply and give 5volt dc to the points + on nr 1 of db803 and - on minus of capacitor cb856
but when i give voltage the relay rl801s click on and off from the motherboard i suppose something missing or goings wrong
i connect and the power supply plug on the tv 220volt and i have desolder the transformer
can someone tell me if its possible to test the circuit with the way i have thought

Few informations, how many ampere do you feed with 5v? i guess needs at least 2A to be sure, furthermore you must test the rest of the psb at bench giving the on signal (a diode between 5v and ps-on pin) and applying test loads

You can NOT test the power supply without the standby circuit working, look at the schematic, The standby circuit also supplies the IC_VCC2

        for this reason i ask
from your experience is there way to test it with this way ?
        i use power supply 5volt 5 ampere
it passes 400 ma from the circuit when it arms the coil of relay and after goes out
but this happen fron the mainboard something sees wrong and it happens
from the philoshophy of schematic it seems it doesnt play rule the ic i have refer above something other reason happens and i cannot undersand
        yet

i don't understand well your language, but R J that looked at schematic states that the main psb stage and probably the pfc needs the current by auxiliary winding of stby circuit to be operative, so put aside the external psu and repair the ps board, ice3br , and so on, if transformer bad , rewind it or buy an used board..

            I understood
i see and i the transformer plays very important rule
i want to ask you something more just to be sure
            can i check if the transformer work without the ic ;

Re: samsung ue46c8000 problem with standby

It is unlikely to be the transformer, ICB801 pin 4,5 drives the transformer primary, The ic has an internal startup cell that supplies a small voltage (vcc pin 7) that will charge CB802 to start the ic switching operation. The feedback winding (RB805,DB804) will charge CB802 to a higher voltage (20v) to keep the ic operating.
There is also another winding that supplies (RB809,DB806) that charges CB805 to about 20~25 volts. QB801 is a regulator/switch that supplies 15 volts to IC_VCC, (pfc icp801,icm802) QB801 is turned on by PC802S

If the ic was bad, check that RB806 is not open. It is good practice to replace CB802 and CB805 as they are usually weak because the standby is always operating.

THANKS A LOT SIR FOR THE DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE OPERATION OF THE CIRCUIT
JUST BECAUSE IN MY CASE HAD BURNED THE RESISTANCE THE RESISTANCE
RB809 2,2OHM 2 WATT AND THE FUSE FB801S 2A AND ACCORDINGLY BELLOW VIDEO MUST I CHANGE THE IC AND THE TRANSFORMER
                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvWwinflWYI
SO IN YOUR OPINION THERE IS NOT CASE TO HAVE SOMETHING THE TRANSFORMER
I WILL ORDER ONLY THE IC CE3BR1765J ICB801 AND THE DAMAGED COMPONENTS AND THE CAPACITORS THAT YOU SUGGEST ME TO SEE IF I REOAIR THE TV

You cannot know if a trasformer is bad watching a video, you mustreplace the other components testing them with the lamp.in series trick

Re: samsung ue46c8000 problem with standby

I agree, usually most everything else will go bad before the transformer.

is there someone education video that it shows the way ?

You desolder the main fuse and solder a lamp holder with wires plus halogen lamp, if the tv draws 100w then you can put a 100w lamp if i remember, this to avoid burning the new components , if lamp glows and stays on then a short is still present

so just to be sure in my case
i will solde in series with the fuse S801S
6.3A a lamp 100 watt and i test it when i change the components first
while if its all right the lamp will not light bright

Just build yourself a simple Series Lamp Limiter (Dim Bulb Tester) check youtube there's probably at least 50 how to videos there, if one video is confusing look at the next one, they are simple to make.

just i wanted to be sure to protect the new components when i replace these
and for improve my knoledges on the electronics of cource
i like the fact that all of you agree the transformer will be ok
                                i hope you have right
