Hi guys,
I have a LG Plasma that went bang one night.
Long story short, I took it to a "professional" shop to repair the YSUS board that was shorted and they did a half ass job.
I'm a long way down the path of teaching myself component level repair, but not 100% confident in everything yet, hence what might be a basic question.
The repair shop replaced 3 transistors on one of the two heat sinks and fixed one short, but the second set of transistors on the second sink still had a short.
So I removed this sink and the attached components and found another 3 shorted components.
I have since purchased replacements off AliExpress - 30F126 IGBT's.
Here is my question. When I test the new 30F126's on a multi-meter in diode mode or continuity, I get nothing. No diode junction from Base to Emiter or collector, and no shorts. When I test all the other Transistors, I get a diode junction acorss Base to emiter.
Am I right in expecting new 30F126's to give me a reading on a multimeter, or do I need to go buy a component analyser?
Trying to work out if these new components are duds or not before I install them.
Cheers,
Sam
