    Sharp LC-58Q7330U No Backlight

This set has the known reputation of failed led backlights. The set does not turn on, but when plugged in, the power led stays lit for about 5 seconds followed by two short blinks and then it repeats itself. While shinning a flashlight on the screen, you can make out the Sharp logo, then it goes out and repeats the cycle. I measured some voltages across the led backlight connector. What has me puzzled is that when I place the negative lead of my vom on the led backlight pin connector (in which the black wire going to the leds was), I measure as high as -228volts, and then it falls to -95 volts and repeats the cycle. I was expecting the voltage to be the opposite polarity (+228 volts falling down to +95 volts). Perhaps, it is because the color of the wire being black is usually associated with negative or ground. Should I be concerned about the polarity or just assume that the wire color (black) has nothing to do with the negative terminal. And the red colored wire really goes to the cathode of the led string. I also measured the voltages on connector XP805 (8pin connector) going from power supply board to main board. I measure 2.91 volts on the pin (SB) standby and 12 volts on the other 2 pins designated 12 volts on the legend.
I believe that I have a open in Led backlight circuit which is causing the set to shut down. Is there anything that I should do to verify my prognosis before taking apart the screen? BTW, I do not have an Led backlight tester, but once I get access the the leds strips, I can test the strip or leds individually. Thank you.

It's your backlight's. I have done several of these models. A couple been using myself for a few years now no issues. Just make sure you turn the backlights down after install to 60 or less and they will last for years. Here is link to 5 strip set. I have never had problems with purchasing here.

Thank you so much and also for the link. Your link at the store through Aliexpress was cheaper than the store that I was going through.

Sharp 80” long short flash backlight error - Help
        by Superbee_dad
        Hello Sharp TV experts
Our Sharp LC-80LE642U displays one short one long flash error code which is a backlight error. I went into service mode and there were 8 lamp error counts recorded. I reset the count to 0 and did a reset. The last monitor error cause was 16 B00014639:12. 16 is the code for backlight error. I tried to power the tv up but went back into error mode.

        > I checked voltages on the power supply board and they all check out .. including 3.28 volts at the error pin.
        > There is power to the cpu and T-CONN and no faults found there. The cpu has a flashing...

UN65TU700DF picture and sound but no backlight. BL tests ok but repl. PSU didnt fix!

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
        by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

        No Backlight Macbook A1990 820-01041
        by Comp_Pro
        Hello all,

Am trying to figure out this backlight issue with this A1990 Macbook Pro.

        Tests performed:

There is no backlight even with a good screen.
Backlight IC is receiving the correct support voltages.
        Fuse F8400 ok
        Current sense resistor R8400 ok
Backlight IC is receiving 3.3V on enable pin.
Backlight IC receiving voltage from PPBUS_G3H, aprox 12.5V.
Backlight IC receiving 5V from PP5V_G3S
Backlight IC BKLT_SCL and BKLT_SDA both measure 0.545V diode mode to ground
        I2C_BKLT_SCL and I2C_BKLT_SDA both measure...

Crappy Vestel/Sharp LC-40FG3141K Set Backlight going off randomly
        by 90Ninety
        Hello
        Model Code Sharp LC-40FG3141K

Firstly perhaps I should save myself the agony and throw this set out ? Then again I hate E-waste , or giving a person further headace in the far east or Agbogbloshie . So I digress to my last hope of fixing this pile of shite , with the dash of hope from your combined experiences

So this set is randomly turning off its backlight ( could be days, hours, minutes or seconds ) , my research suggests this maybe an over current protection , or leaky/faulty LEDS , or a bad LED driver circuit . So I opened it up , stabbed my Multi...
