Re: Samsung UE49MU7470U LED backlight issue causing shadow?
Ah ok having read the thread again I think the advice is to strip it down to the panel and check if they're burnt and also to get the codes for the LED's before ordering them.
I'm going to buy suction cups next week and will strip it down Saturday/Sunday night at work.

Your going to find the diffuser is marked cos if your strip has been working with a faulty LED, the others will have been running hotter than normal. If you have enough room to store the dismantled set, Id get the suction cups and dismantle before buying strips so you can check diffuser. If you dont want to buy cups, try siding a large piece of cardboard below screen and lift it that way. Luckily I have a seller 20mls away and I can run up and get the strips for a quick turnaround. Check CGTV on ebay.

Thanks for the advice.
At the moment it’s got its back panel off and is stashed at work on the top deck of the stores. I’m buying suction cups on Thursday and will start stripping it down Saturday night. I’ve already ordered the LED strips Sonys advised me to. They’re on a slow boat from china so will be here in a couple of weeks.
If the diffuser is burnt/scorched will that need replacing too? They must be pretty cheap surely? I dont imagine they have a part id so must be readily available from lots of places?

We have a result.
The process of stripping it down was easier than I thought and with the help of another lad at work we had it down to chassis in an hour or so. As soon as we revealed the LED strips it was clear there was an issue with one of them fractured from
It's rail. Swapped the pair of strips, built back up and it's good to go!
Chuffed to bits with myself. And thanks to sonys and Diah for the help!
