    Samsung UN58TU7000F no picture

I have a Samsung UN58TU7000FXZC (same as UN58TU7000FXZA, just the Canadian model) with no picture. Backlight is on and sound is coming out just fine. Just no picture.

What is frustrating is that there's no voltage test point and no component labelling of any kind.

What I have found so far:
    1. No voltage at pins 91-94 of the 96 pins connector CN1300 (marked 1 on the picture). This TV set has no T-CON board. The 96 pin flex cable goes directly to the right (when facing TV) lower panel board. Itself is linked with another flex to the other side.
    2. Voltage doesn't come back if I disconnect the 96 pin flex cable.
    3. A DC to DC converter chip (VPMS2GMB, marked 2 on the picture) controls many coils. It may be the one that is marked IC400_UT (just below coil marked 6).
    4. Coils marked 3, 4 and 5 have control and produce a voltage.
    5. Coil marked 6 seems to be for internal usage. Both sides are connected to the chip.
    6. Coil 7 doesn't receive any pulse (connected directly to the chip).
    7. Coil 8 doesn't receive any pulse from the chip through the mosfet marked 9 (N-Channel mosfet marked PY8N10GR).
    8. Its output once rectified by diode marked 10 is the one that goes directly to the 4 pins marked 1 of the 96 pin connector.
    9. When I say that the twp coils receive no pulse, I mean no pulse at all. Nothing at all on my scope in single trigger mode.

Do you have any info on the VPMS2GMB chip? Is that a clone of another chip? I'm most interrested to know if there's enable pins. That chip is hard to find. The only place I found it is through an authorized Samsung parts reseller:
    https://samsungpartsusa.com/products/1203-009371

It is Samsung part #1203-009371. At $35.95, I have to be sure that the chip is faulty before making a call.

According to another website, this chip is also used in the following models:
    QN50Q60TAFXZA
    QN55Q60TAFXZA
    QN75Q60TAFXZA
    UN43TU7000FXZA
    UN58TU7000FXZA
    UN65TU7000FXZA
    UN70TU7000FXZA
    UN75TU7000FXZA
    UN75TU700DFXZA

Finally, do you know the voltage I should see at the 4 pins of the connector? It should be high since it is filtered by two sets of two capacitors in series (just at the upper-left of number 1). And what about voltage that should be produced at the output of the coil marked 7?

    Thanks.

    Re: Samsung UN58TU7000F no picture

In this "TU" series, the problem has always been in the panel itself, this chip (replacement) will not help you.

I would agree, but why is the voltage missing even with the flex cable disconnected?

        Hello Yanleb,

It seems I face to the same issue with my 58TU6905 samsung TV.
No voltage on the coil 8.

Did you found you what was wrong and where we need to investigate?

        Regards

The voltage on the 4 pins connector should be 17V. And the coil marked 7 is GND, there is no voltage. Right to this coil there are two diodes, between them is VGL, that should be -10,5V.

Did you repair this board? Now I have the same situation, but a little other board. Also three coils with voltages 3,3V; 1,9V, 1,8V and nothnig more. Even if the glass is faulty, the board should produce all the T-Con voltages after coonecting the two big pins on top right corner of the board.

Attached is a similar working board with the same DC-DC chip and it's voltages.
