    powmax/realpcpower atx psu

bad caps in the secondary of powmax and realpcpower black knight(same insides)
rulycon rubycon ripoffs found bad in both.
so if your pc is acting possessed check the caps!
these do not have short protection on +3.3 either
an overload on +3.3 makes the +5 and +12 overshoot badly.
a short on +3.3 causes burning wiring.
pure junk.should just shut down if overloaded or shorted.

Out of curiosity, did the supplies actually fail? Were they fixable/did you repair them?

      they were shot.
i could have recapped them but they had a hellofa mess inside from the caps venting.
i replaced a few in the black to see if it would pass my tests for safety.
that when i found that the +3.3 has no protection.

Palit RTX 3060 Possessed fan .. Intermittant control
        by 90Ninety
So I purchased a faulty GPU on ebay Palit RTX 3060 .. It had a broken fan ( it did not spin at all )

Long story short , is the PWM control of the Card seems to be intermittantly faulty

        Long story
I replaced said fan , seemed to work for a while , until randomly the fan starts spinning at 100% ( around 3.2K RPM ) for no rational reason ( temps and performance are ok ) . Now fan spins , though several times a day the fan decides to run at 100% for several minuites a time .. Then resumes normal operating ..

bear in Mind the card can be cooled sufficiently...

        Dell Inspiron 15 POSSESSED
        by Gecko-EC
Hi to all the repair wizards out there... Got an interesting one, well to me anyway... Dell Inspiron 3552. TN 9GBYXN2. This is the most intermittent I have ever seen. Starts up from cold...Shuts down almost immediately. Leave it a few days...Same thing... Next time I try it will operate perfectly for hours... no issues...Even got a full Windows install out of it... I have tried with battery, without battery...Battery only , AC only...Multiple chargers...swapped RAM, Screen...managed to update the bios ( 4.4.0) via Windows even when it was in a "good state of mind"...the variations are...

CompUSA PowMax LP-6100 – this is as good as they get!
        by momaka
Ah, good ol' PowMax! I mean, who doesn't love them, right?
Even Topcat himself used to "frequently recommend and use Powmax supplies"
Don't believe me? Have a look here.
(P.S. Sorry TC, I just had to make a funny here. Hope you don't mind. )

        Anyways, folks.
What I will be showing you today is a CompUSA 500 Watt power supply based on the Leadman/PowMax LP-6100 platform. For those of you who are still scratching your head and wondering about Leadman/PowMax – it's basically a company that used to (and still does?) make some of the...

        MT3608 Step-Up Converter IC Datasheet
        by Document Archive
The MT3608 is a constant frequency, 6-pin SOT23 current mode step-up converter intended for small, low power applications. The MT3608 switches at 1.2MHz and allows the use of tiny, low cost capacitors and inductors 2mm or less in height.

Internal soft-start results in small inrush current and extends battery life.

The MT3608 features automatic shifting to pulse frequency modulation mode at light loads. The MT3608 includes under-voltage lockout, current limiting, and thermal overload protection to prevent damage in the event of an output overload. The MT3608 is available...

Samsung UN65LS003 BT/Wifi issues becoming more widespread
        by NizNoz
Device: UN65LS003AF (Samsung "The Frame" TV, featuring two power inputs - one for OneConnect box, and one directly into the Chassis)

Summary of Issue: The included, Bluetooth remote had a continuously blinking red light indicating lack of pairing. Attempts at pairing would result in message "Not Available". Normal, Samsung IR remote seemed to perform all functions normally. This is how I discovered wifi was also not functioning. These problems were intermittent, occasionally connecting to the router and pairing the BT remote.

        Since there's a discrete...
