modify a dell server psu to work in a shuttle x pc

Brief, psu died in shuttle, too far gone to be recoverable.
Went through my pc scrap and pulled a slim line 280w from a gutted out power edge 750 that works fine.

It has a 20 pin atx and 6pin power connection. The pinouts are standard for atx except for the fact that there is a +3.3vsb on the 6 way along with the 2 12v suplimentary lines and There is no purple +5vsb on the 20way.

Compared with standard atx 20 pin and other than the missing +5vsb averything is the same including colour code (i expectected it to be as Dell has been using standard atx since 2000 'ish)

A quick probe around finds 5.7v always on a jumper pin (the stanby circuit and fan controller are on a daughter board that is joined with a row of jumpers to the main board)

Would it be safe to assume i should be able to find a suitable +5vsb location or will i have to knock up some kind of ghetto fix to get the clean +5vsb needed.

B4 you ask, the Shuttle PSUs are way overpriced for what they are and im getting a bit fed up with using a regular size psu and not being able to put the cover on properly. Its my plex/sickbeard/headphones server and i had it running just right so would rather resurect than start afresh

Tried to find a schematic for it and failed
Its marked as an HP-U280EF3 v. A00, (annoyingly the H01 version is +5vsb apparently.)
I believe its a Delta made item?

Troubleshooting of redundant F750E-S0 Dell PowerEdge Server
    by omega
    Hello all,
as a beginner electronics hobbyist, after a few years I would like to place another post on this Forum section, given that I did not succeed in finding any useful advice among the other posts.

Over the last years, I have been using a PowerEdge Dell Server with two redundant PSUs, namely the 750W F750E-S0 ones (aka 06W2PW). Unfortunately, last summer one of them failed (perhaps owing to an overheating), and the server had for working to take into account the other one only. Of course I opened and tried to troubleshoot the failed PSU, but each cap I tested seemed to...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
    by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Dell Pro 13 Plus PB13250 Bios Unlock
    by Akhlz001
    Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

Dell Inspiron 5590 Board 18778-1 no charging, charging not possible
    by master3112
I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...
