I have a seasonic 550HT.
I wanted to use a backup UPS that would work with it.
I had a APC Back UPS ES 500, but that seemed to have too low a wattage capacity for my old Antec 430, so I thought it would not work with the 550HT. It works with the 430 but if I have the monitor plugged into the battery backup side it sometimes overloads.
So I got an APC RS1500VA LCD.
The LCD shows how much wattage it is actually using.
The Antec 430 was getting to over 200 watts but the 550HT rarely goes over 150 watts and idles at 105 with the system on.
The 430 was used with a Pentium D 820 and the 550HT is used with an i7 920.
So did I really need the RS1500VA or could I have used the ES500 with the 550HT?
Can I get an explaination of the voltage of the UPS with the kind of PSU it can handle?
