    Hitachi J100 series inverter

I am trying to identify a diode, Marked "L2 29" the diodes are located across the electrolytic capaacitors, which should make them like tvs diodes, but they also seem to be used as the main rectifiers for the voltage going to the caps. from the switching transformer.
The diode thats bad (shorted & broke) was across a also shorted 1000uf 10 volt electrolytic.
These diodes are used other places on the board, some have 24 volts across them.

There is also one other similar diode marked "V6 22" (its ok)

without any diode the unit comes on but voltage to the 24 volt fan is too high.
I tried a 33 volt zener and the unit would not work, acted like there was a short, I placed two 33 volt zeners in series where the diode goes and the unit powers up with the proper 24 volts to the fan

Just checking to see if anyone else has seen these before.
    Thanks

    Re: Hitachi J100 series inverter

I think the diode is a Sanken part like EL02Z is 200V 1.5A 40nsec rectifier diode, as part of a voltage-doubler perhaps.
    I would use any 1A ultrafast-recovery diode like UF4004

PSU voltage regulation seems to be CMP HA17903 comparator driving opto PC1. Your diode probably powers the IC, so the PSU will go full-tilt unless PC1 activated.

Might have two failures, the PSU voltage too high and damaging caps, then diode failing.

DP11 looks blackened. Diode DP2-K by terminal block lead looks arced to.

      Re: Hitachi J100 series inverter

I can't put a fast recovery in its place, the power supply will not start up as it sees what amounts to a short, dp11 checks fine, it got discolored when dp9 burnt up,
DP2 has a bit of corrosion on its cathode but its not used (only comes into play if external resistor is used which its not)
the inverter seems to work fine with the two zeners in series si suspect its a tvs diode, maybe around 50-60 volt
I sent an email to Hitachi industrial, we'll see what they say???

        Re: Hitachi J100 series inverter

I'm not sure what I did when I put the fast recovery diode in the first time but after checking everything I installed the diode again and its working just fine with a FR157 diode, so it was just a fast recovery diode.
The cap that shorted was a rubycon 1000/10 volts, the new cap. has 5 volts across it.

Imac A1312 - Blown Diode, Need Inverter Schematic?
          by reessi
          iMac 27-Inch "Core i7" 3.4 (Mid-2011):

First off I have the Imac Schematic but only for the mainboard, does anyone have the inverter one or a similiar one from another for better understanding?

          Searched all over for one!

All voltages to the Inverter are correct:

(12v in, 3.3v Enable and PWM Approx 3.0v).

Output was 12v and moved a little but Inverter was obviously cutting off as D1 was SHORTED.

After replacing this the IMAC works for 1 week exactly and dies again. When working the output was correct...

12/24 volt compressor cooler box inverter capacitor failure
          by sam_sam_sam
This is my son’s cooler for his semi truck for his drinks the other day it started short cycling ( running for a second or two then shutting down ) and restarting four or five times then going into an error power cycle the controller then it would do the same thing again

Found a 47uf@63 volts double the ESR value of a new one
The 220uf@16 volts same as a new but 220uf@35 volt replacement capacitor

The main filtering capacitor was not replaced because I did not have that was not too tall

Where the 220uf capacitor is some type of switching power...

What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply
          by caspian
          Dear members,

I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
          no schematics are available...

Finding replacement diode iPad Pro 3rd gen A1701
          by asr
Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

12 volt switching power supply modification to 14.5 volts before blocking diode add
          by sam_sam_sam
I saw this switching power supply on eBay and wanted to see if could be modified to run 14.5 volts before the blocking diode was add and this switching power supply seems to have no issues doing this

I did recap the switching power supply except the the main filtering capacitors and I managed to break the selector switch for the voltage setting but just jumped it

One note I used 25 volt capacitors on the output side of this power supply because they used 16 volt capacitors and because I am running the voltage up a little bit higher 12 volts to 14.5 volts there would...
